That’s why we also can’t blame them for wanting to try new things even while they are at home.
Just like this teen who had a brilliant idea.
Ben Tolliday wanted to build a roller coaster in their backyard. It sounds quite impossible you may say, especially for a teen.
But what’s amazing is this guy made sure to make it happen.
He was the only one who did all the work.
From planning up to the execution of his ideas. Thankfully, he shared how he started from scratch on his YouTube channel.
He gathered all the materials that he would need such as cinder blocks, woods, PVC pipe, and sandbags. He even removed a small part of the fences on their deck to achieve the backyard roller coaster.
It pretty obvious that this guy is indeed skillful when it comes to building things. He once shared what he was able to build five years ago.
Going back to his newest project, he worked on the whole thing with a lot of trial and error. Of course, the first thing that he was considering is the ride safety.
He made sure that everything would work smoothly from the wood track up to the DIY coaster.
His project turned out pretty good.
After numerous failures, he eventually achieved the outcome that he had in mind. Now, his backyard roller coaster is so popular.
When he posted it on YouTube, it has immediately gained over 29,000 views. He also shared some clips on TikTok and they have gone massively viral.
A lot of people got really amazed by his creation and he can really say that his efforts are worth it.
Aside from his hard work, his parents were also present to express their support for him.
Although they were worried about the ride’s safety, they didn’t stop their son from making his vision into reality. Ben even shared an adorable clip where his mom tried the roller coaster herself.
At first, his mother was reluctant to ride on it but eventually, after several people liked Ben’s post, she then gave it a try.
“Mom went on the roller coaster thanks to @tiktok,” he wrote on his post.
Many people commended Ben’s skills, creativity, and determination in creating such a huge thing.
“Amazing done! Always nice to see a backyard rollercoaster. I really like your style of video-editing too,” one commenter wrote.
Ben really did his best to show his entire journey of making the backyard roller coaster.

During these trying times, we all know that there are many things that we are not allowed to do. And thankfully, being hardworking and creative are not among these things. Ben has proven this with his amazing project.
And it’s great that he has now a “mini amusement park” in their backyard that he can enjoy anytime.
