When it comes to putting on a hilarious comedy act – you don’t need a lot of props. Just personality and a bit of creativity.
One pair of teens figured out all they needed were some tutus and an inflatable beach ball.
The audience of the JL Crowe Variety Show couldn’t help but crack up watching the male performers’ skit on stage. While the concept and their outfits are hysterical – there’s actually quite a bit of talent behind it too!
“Go big or go home” is a common mantra a lot of people use in their lives. Apparently, the teens in the video took it into consideration when they decided upon a courageous beach ball act.
Nolan and Jayden are the “dancers” featured on stage during the variety show, which takes place annually in British Columbia. Even they can’t help but laugh simply looking at one another.
It takes a lot of bravery to stand in front of an audience in a tutu, colorful socks, and a headband. But just wait until you see Nolan and Jayden’s moves!
The skit is set to Bonnie Tyler’s 80s classic, “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” At first, the ballerinas circle each other on stage and look deeply into each other’s eyes. Once they squish a beach ball in between their chests it’s apparent it’s going to another level.
Can you keep your eye on the ball?
You never know what kind of unusual acts are going to pop up at a variety show. For Nolan and Jayden’s performance – their act kind of reminds you of the game kids play where they don’t want to let a balloon or ball drop. Only it’s a lot funnier!
They begin by rolling the beach ball between their arms, with each teen responsible for one side of it.
They even are able to cross paths all while keeping the ball in motion (and off the ground).
It gets fancier and fancier.
Prepare to be awestruck as Nolan and Jayden carefully spin the ball with their hands. Or, you might be super impressed when one teen orbits his friend like he’s the sun (all while keeping the ball in the air). Okay, maybe not “awestruck,” but it’s a lot of fun to watch!
There’s a certain move that requires a deep breath before performing.
After the teens slow dance for a few moments, they pause with the ball between their chests. One dancer points to the ball, letting the other know “It’s time…” The other guy has that look of, “Did I really sign up for this?”
Once he begins rolling the ball with his head down his friend’s body – it makes more sense why he needed that deep breath.
Unfortunately, as he attempts to get through his legs, there’s a whoopsie. Uh-oh, they drop the beach ball! It doesn’t even matter though, because the crowd is rolling in their seats.
The routine is entertaining, courageous, and just downright hilarious.
While Nolan and Jayden completely rock their act, it’s a skit that’s been done by other brave performers too. A quick search on YouTube and you’ll discover lots of beach ball dances with funny results!
A highlight comes at the end of the routine involving something other than a big beach ball.
Beach balls are great for summertime fun and according to Shape, they can even be used for toning up too! Eventually, the teens end up putting theirs away and replace it with…well, a much smaller ball.
It’s a hilarious ending to an awesome variety show act you don’t want to miss.
