Teachers hilariously remix Jackson-5 classic to welcome students back to school
I enjoyed this so much! Of course, they wouldn't be living up to the role of "teacher" without a lesson in the song.

Like most educators, these teachers are excited to go back to school. But instead of decorating like crazy and coming up with lesson plans, they had a more interesting way of showing it. Like choreographing an entire dance to and edited version of “I Want You Back” by the Jackson 5.

This group of teachers and administration showed their students how much they care by dancing through the halls to Michael Jackson. More than that, the lyrics of the song were changed to show their excitement towards seeing their students again.

“Oh students, time to grab your masks/ and your sanitizers”

“If not we won’t let you back in our halls.”

Almost all the teachers participated, even the ones who didn’t get up from their chairs. They got the mascot, the janitor, even the principal involved in the dance, hoping to inspire students to get in the mood to come back to school.

The students at St. Agatha haven’t been in school since March due to the pandemic, and the stir craziness is starting to set in- for teachers and students alike.

Their moves are pretty impressive, but the lyrics to the song are what make it great as well. “Now its time to leave your homes and get back to your books.”

“Trying to teach without you here is just one big heartache,” are some of the cutes made up lines from the song.

The lyrics “Parent’s we know its hard to let them go,” may be a bit of a fib because we all know that a lot of parents are tired of trying to be homeschool teachers or the IT department, setting up a laptop. Some parents are sad to see their kids go back to every day school, and some of them can’t get them out of the house fast enough.

St. Agatha is also clearly following a lot of safety guidelines since opening back up. Every teacher has a mask, they encourage all their students to wear one with them, and hand sanitizer even makes its way into the song. But on a more serious note, all these things are needed by the students returning to classes. The well-being of the students is first on the list of any educator returning to in person learning.

I hope that the students that are set to return to St. Agatha are just as excited as their teachers are to walk, or dance, the hallways again. Check out the video below for the full song!
