While many of us will have struggled with school at various points throughout our childhood, we can all remember one or two teachers who helped to make the experience slightly better.

Perhaps you had a teacher who put in extra time to help you keep up with your classmates, or maybe you had a teacher who knew how to get the nasty kids off your back.

We spend the majority of our childhoods at school, so it’s no surprise that a good teacher can make all the difference.

Research shows that teachers have the power to dramatically influence a child’s wellbeing outside of home. Teachers can also act as emotional and behavioral guides, teaching kids how to act as responsible adults.

Some teachers make such an impact on their students that the kids hate the idea of class without them – a big win, considering lots of kids hate school in general.

One Chicago teacher was so loved by her students that the idea of home-schooling during Covid-19 was upsetting.

When five-year-old Mckenzie started asking when she would finally get to see her teacher again, it became obvious to the little girl’s mom that this teacher had already made a big impact.

It quickly became clear that the other 26 kids in Mckenzie’s class all felt the same way – so the parents planned a big surprise.

Mrs Klint was the teacher in question – “the best teacher in the entire world”, apparently.

According to Mckenzie, Mrs Klint “puts a little sparkle on each kid”, which is a really cute way of saying she cares about everyone equally.

She’s clearly a loving teacher who’s devoted to her job – so her students decided to spread the love right back, with the best surprise she could have never expected.

One sunny day, the parents and kids formed a bumper-to-bumper, 27 car parade and headed straight for Mrs. Klint’s house.

The parents pulled up in the teacher’s front driveway, beeping their horns while their kids, Mrs Klint’s students, waved homemade love-heart signs and colorful balloons.

Mrs Klint had been completely unaware that anything out of the ordinary would be happening, and explained that she had received a single text message telling her to come outside.

She recalled:

“All of a sudden, there comes 20 cars, flying down my street, beeping horns, screaming. Kids are popping out the tops and the windows. Posters, it’s just amazing. It was a long line. And it’s loud.”

In video footage of the event, Mrs. Klint is heard saying that she’s shaking – overwhelmed by the sweet act of kindness.

She can be seen carrying armfuls of signs and homemade paper items that the children have passed to her from their windows.

Mrs. Klint really is one of the best teachers of her kind, but she stays humble, simply saying that she loves her students like her own kids because she spends “all day” with them.

As for Mckenzie’s mom, she knows that Mrs. Klint has something really special.

She said:

“I don’t think we’ll ever forget a teacher like her. She deserves it. She deserves all the happiness.”

N’aww – if only all of our favorite teachers could be celebrated in this way!
