Since 1997, the reality TV show Survivor has only been getting more and more popular, as the producers introduce different tribe arrangements over time.

What started as a two-tribe game has had seasons where three tribes were introduced, like in this year’s Survivor 43, mix of new and old players who returned as contestants or mentors, and lots of interesting games and personal stories of the players.

This year, the TV show involved three tribes of six, and there was a sole winner.

The three finalists were Mike Gabler, who actually won the game, Cassidy Clark, and Owen Knight.

The 52-year-old winner is a heart valve specialist with Edwards Lifesciences.

The man, “a Texas native, has two decades of experience in the cardiology space, spending the last 11 years with Edwards Lifesciences”, Cardiovascular Business explains.

So, recently, when the last episode of the season aired, the show and its players made history in their own special way.

After the winner was announced, presenter Jeff Probst and the players had a conversation about the game and how it affected them, while Jeff asked the winner Mike Gabler how he felt about the fact that $1M would soon be in his “pocket”.

That’s when Gabler gave a little speech and explained how this game was an opportunity for all of them to make a difference.

“We’re going to make history in another way,” said the winner, who is actually the second oldest person to win Survivor.

The reality show presenter had no idea what Gabler was talking about, so he asked what was going on, obviously perplexed.

The players, too, looked confused. But, only moments later, Gabler explained what he meant by saying they were all going to make history that day through this victory of his.

“There are people who need that money more, and I’m going to donate the entire prize — the entire million-dollar prize, in my father’s name, Robert Gabler, who was a Green Beret — to veterans in need who are recovering from psychiatric problems, PTSD and curb the suicide epidemic,” said the season’s “Sole Survivor.”

This promise had his fellow contestants’ eyes welling up. And it clearly touched many of them.

Ryan revealed that his father is a veteran. He said that he has been through a lot as a child seeing his father leave and stay away for a long time, and not knowing whether he was going to come back.

The young man said he used to know people who went to their own weddings and never came back.

Everyone was touched by those stories, and this Survivor team definitely made history this year.

Viewers from around the country were touched by Gabler’s thoughtfulness.

“This man donating his entire $1 million prize to help veterans deserves a ton of credit, most people would not do that,” someone wrote.

Indeed, this donation will definitely make a difference in the lives of veterans.
