Losing someone isn’t easy. Whether it’s because of a disease or war, people go through the same painful process just to accept what happened.
When Joseph Villasenor passed away, his family was left in shock and grief.
The United States Air Force Staff Sergeant was only 36 years old when he died. He was young and had so much potential in him.
His parents couldn’t do anything about it.
His death was painful and there was nothing that could ease the pain at that time. They grieved and mourn for their beloved son.
One day, something mysterious happened.
When visiting their son’s grave, they noticed that his son’s grave at the Garden Park Cemetery was a bit different. Instead of having dirt and dried grass, the area was actually luscious and healthy.
There, they discovered more about Jake Reissig.
The 86-year-old man developed a habit after his wife passed away. It has been his daily routine for the last couple of years.
Each morning, the old man goes to mass.
After that, he makes sure to see one of his kids for a cup of coffee. On his way back home, he visits his rose garden. There, he takes one rose and brings it to the cemetery. It’s his little gift for his wife of 65 years.
One day, while Jake was visiting her, he noticed Joseph’s sister.
He approached her and there, she shared about her brother and what the family was going through. With his kind heart, he knew he had to do something.
At that time, Jake was worried that the drought would leave his wife’s plot would be so dry.
To make sure that didn’t happen, he watered the lawn twice a day. Watering the area around Joseph’s lawn became a part of his routine. For him, it was his only way of showing the woman and his family that he cared even though he was a stranger.
His son Roger shared:
“He’s just a giving person. When I saw it — I just couldn’t believe it.”
Even Joseph’s family was in awe when they saw what the old man did.
They even thought it was a miracle. There was a drought in the area and there was no way that healthy grass would grow in Joseph’s plot.
When Joseph’s family finally saw Jake, they went to hug him right away.
There, the old man asked Joseph’s mother one touching question:
“Do you want to water it?”
Hearing those words made the woman’s eyes water. She took the hose and proceeded to water the lawn.
Roger shared the story on his Facebook.
There, his father’s good deed earned tons of positive comments. One of them said:
“Roger, your Father is an inspiration to all. Thank you for this lovely, heartwarming story of true love and dedication.
