There’s a whole other world in the ocean, a world full of majestic creatures that thrive in the salty waters. When this octopus gets stuck in the sand during low-tide, this man saves him and gets an unexpected “thank you” from an unlikely friend.

Octopus shows gratitude after being rescued and goes massively viral for it
It’s not every day that you see an octopus on the beach, but if you do, they’re probably in danger. The extremely intelligent eight-limbed animals can only survive out of the water for short periods of time, so when this man saw one stranded on the beach he knew it was in trouble.
As soon as he saw the stuck octopus, the kind-hearted stranger grabbed a plastic jar and jumped into action. It wasn’t just the rescue that was incredible, but more so what happened afterward.
He scooped the octopus into a plastic jar before it was too late
Can you imagine being that stuck octopus? Seeing a giant human approaching you with no idea what their intentions are? It must have been really frightening for the little guy, but lucky for him the man was only there to help.
After getting the octopus into the jar, the man knew it needed water so he proceeded to a good spot on the beach to release him back into the ocean.
When he goes to release the octopus, it’s almost like he doesn’t want to leave the jar at first
It takes a second for the octopus to leave the comfort of his rescue jar, but you can only imagine how good that felt for him to finally get back into the water.
To the man’s surprise, the octopus doesn’t immediately swim away once he’s back into the water. Instead, he does something that stuns people all over the internet.

Filming on in disbelieve, the man continues to record the octopus while he swims closer and closer to his shoe. He had no clue what the animal was doing, but soon it was clear, he was trying to tell him something.
That’s when the octopus rests one of his tentacles on the man’s foot as if to say “thank you”
For what seems like an eternity, the octopus attaches his tentacle to the man’s foot in an unmistakable gesture of thanks. After the touching moment, the octopus slowly swims away safe and sound. Being that they only live 3-5 years, I’m sure saving his life was a huge deal for the little guy and he made it obvious that he was appreciative.
