There is nothing stronger than a mother’s love.

No wonder this book became so popular! It’s very sweet, and it just perfectly describes how a mother loves her child.

What makes this story appealing is that it’s not only for children but also for adults as well.

According to Robert, the book is for everyone. In fact, everyone is buying it for kids, for themselves, for their parents, and even for their grandparents!

“As a matter of fact, everybody buys it for everybody. That’s why it sells a lot of copies. I think it’s my best book. So far it has sold about 15,000,000 copies,Robert shared on his website.

But did you know that there’s a deeper story behind this popular lullaby and story?

In fact, the story behind this will definitely bring you to tears.

I’ll love you forever,

I’ll like you for always,

As long as I’m living

my baby you’ll be.

This sweet lullaby came from Robert’s heart.

Robert and Ann wanted to have kids. In fact, it was their dream. No wonder they got so excited when they found out that they were expecting!

But what happens when life plays a cruel joke?

Ann Munsch, the wife of the famous author Robert Munsch, was so excited to welcome their baby. Unfortunately, Ann gave birth to a stillborn child.

Again, after trying, their second child was also stillborn.

The couple was beyond devastated. No one can describe the pain and the emptiness that they felt.

For a long time, Robert sang the lullaby to himself while thinking of his children and wife.

“I made that up after my wife and I had two babies born dead. The song was my song to my dead babies. For a long time I had it in my head and I couldn’t even sing it because every time I tried to sing it I cried. It was very strange having a song in my head that I couldn’t sing,” the talented author shared on his website.

If that’s not enough, their doctors had to tell them that they couldn’t conceive a child anymore.

This news broke Robert’s heart and tested his sanity.

For a man who had been working in orphanages, who finished his master’s degree in Child Studies, and had written countless children’s books, this news just doesn’t make sense.

It took a long time before the couple could move on.
