When, almost six years ago, baby Elise stopped breathing, her mother panicked and all she could do was pray for an angel to come their way and save her little girl.
Indeed, not only one, but two angels arrived to save Elise’s life.
You see, the girl’s mom had realized her 6-week-old baby had stopped breathing, and she had pulled over the car praying for a miracle.
“We were on the side of the road in the weeds. She was unconscious; I could not get her to wake up,” Kristin told KARE 11. “I had thought, in that moment, my child was dying.”
That’s when a nurse and a state trooper happened to be driving by, and they pulled over as well to see if someone needed their help.
Nurse Virginia Marsh and State Patrol Lt. Paul Stricker went to check on the mother that had laid her baby daughter on the grass trying to help her breathe again.
Thankfully, the two strangers were able to revive the baby, and she was rushed to the hospital, where she had to stay for five days to fight the virus that had caused her to stop breathing.
The Lonsbury family has since considered Virginia and Paul their daughter’s guardian angels and they have kept in contact over the years that followed.
Stricker even wrote a letter for baby Elise explaining how much their encounter meant to him and that he would always be there for her whatever she needed.
He also offered her a charm which was a miniature of his badge, which she simply loves to wear.
Just recently, it was time for Elise to wear it on her first day of school.
She put on her favorite clothes and shoes, she packed her fancy bag, and didn’t forget to wear the badge her favorite person once gave to her.
But still, it felt that something would be missing from her first day of school.
That’s when her mother realized it would be a great idea to have her guardian angels escort her on her first day of kindergarten. Elise would definitely love that!
So, she exchanged messages with Paul, and she was glad to find out that he could come. Unfortunately, Virginia had to go to work that day, but at least one of Elise’s guardian angels could take her by the hand so they could walk into her new school together for the first time.
“To have Paul here is really special for her,” Elise’s mom told KARE 11. “I hope she never forgets the moment.”
Elise was excited to see Paul would be taking her to school, and Stricker also got emotional during the process.
“To see her as happy as she is today is pretty special,” Stricker said.
It’s amazing how this family grew by two members-angels when they saved the little girl’s life.
And watching the girl and the trooper enter the school together just makes our hearts melt.
