Reunions between long separated family members are almost always highly emotional affairs. Add in the stress of your loved one being in dangerous circumstances and there’s no way their reunion will be dry-eyed. All the worry of months or even years of someone being deployed in the military makes for a dramatic occasion, especially, as has been a recent fad, when it’s a surprise reunion.
Colde has just returned from a ten month stint.
That’s the longest he and his family had ever been apart. Did he decide to let them know that he was coming home and allow them to anticipate his return? Nope! He decided it would be way more fun to surprise them by appearing seemingly out of thin air.
In their local grocery store, Colde quietly approaches his Mom and kid sister.
As he gets closer, they remain oblivious.
Preoccupied with the vegetables, this mom and her daughter have no idea what’s about to hit them. Colde doesn’t know when they’re going to turn around and see him, but their focus on their shopping allows him to walk right up to them without so much as a word.
Then, just as they’re about to walk away, his sister changes course.
It looks for a second as if the mom and sister are about to walk away without even noticing Colde’s presence. But just as they’re turning away, his sister drops a bag of vegetables. She tries to catch it with her foot, but before she can, the bag falls to the ground. This gives Colde all the time he needs to walk right up to them. She has no idea that when she looks back up…
Colde is standing right there.
He says “hey” and her face drops. Stunned for a moment, you can see that Colde’s sister is taking a minute to process what’s right in front of her eyes. When she bent over to pick up the bag, there was nothing unusual. Then when she rises, her brother who has been missing for ten months was standing right in front of her.
When his sister sees the camera she seems to realise what’s gong on.
Handing over the bag to her mom, she exclaims “Colde!” The way she yells his name has really touched viewers of this video.
Hearing the excitement in her voice is genuinely heartwarming.
Colde’s sister throws her arms around him and leaps up onto him to give him the biggest hug ever. Just try not to burst into tears at this heartfelt reunion. Many of the viewers struggled with that too!
I’m not crying…you’re crying!
Anyone who’s ever been reunited with a loved one after a long time will understand just how moving these moments can be.
