Sisters, Sandy and Deb, stood outside The Today Show in the pouring rain with the hopes of getting chosen for a makeover. It might have seemed foolish to others but it was worth it in the end. They were the lucky two to get chosen. The sisters could not see each other, or themselves, until the big reveal and, boy, was it ever a reveal.
Sandy and Deb look like two completely different women after their makeovers.
Sandy and Deb are both from Iowa but were in New York City for a sister’s trip. Sandy is the older sister at the age of 61 and Deb is 55. Deb is a mother to two, while Sandy is a grandma of five. These sisters seem as close as ever. Each sister is more excited for the other to receive a makeover instead of themselves. Sandy also revealed it was a week away from Deb’s birthday. Perfect timing for a makeover.
Birthday’s are always a great time to get a fresh new look. New year, new you.
“She’s my big sister she works hard she’s got her kids and her grandkids and it’s just time to pamper her now,”
Deb said in her interview.
Sandy and Deb’s makeovers were done separately. This was done so they could not see each other before their big reveal. The makeovers were done by hairstylist to the stars, Louis Licari, and fashion expert, Jill Martin. Louis and Jill did not want to completely change the sisters, but showcase their best features through different hairstyles and outfit choices.
They wanted their inner and outer beauty to shine together.
Louis Licari stated, “To offer women hair color perfectly suited to their skin tone, facial features and lifestyle. My mantra is ‘the right hair color can lift a complexion and take years off a woman’s face.’ I really do believe that.”
Sandy was the first makeover reveal and she is stunning! Sandy did not color her hair before the makeover but they lightened her hair just a bit to beautiful results. They also pulled her bangs to the side to try and make the bangs have a softer touch. Her hair still looks natural but is much brighter and healthier.
Sandy’s entire look changed so dramatically, it took her a second to recognize her own self in the mirror!
Deb is second to reveal her new look and it is more dramatic than the first reveal.
Deb received a long pixie cut which can be styled in multiple ways. She can have her hair be even on both sides when she needs a more relaxed look or she can push one side back and create a faux asymmetrical cut. Her versatile hair cut is even more beautiful with the new lighter color. When Deb sees herself for the first time she is almost in complete shock.
The sisters makeovers makes Hoda say out loud,
“This is crazy. Who are you people?”
Who are they, is right. They are two entirely new women.
