Julianne and her brother Hayden were out playing in their front yard like most normal kids do. The kids from Cleveland were having a great time when a man suddenly approached them.
It’s an incident no one is ever really prepared for but Julianne, at her age, reacted quite well.
“He started to talk to us, but we really couldn’t figure out what he was saying. It was like gibberish so we really didn’t think much of it,” Julianne, 11, narrated the incident.
The strange man walked away from the children after attempting to strike up a conversation, but soon turned around and came back for Hayden, six, whom he grabbed by the arm attempting to drag the little boy away.
“When he tried to grab my brother, I knew like this was serious. This was not like any handshake or anything,” Julianne said.
“I just grabbed my brother and went into the backyard because there was no time to panic. You just have to go with it.”
Julianne then ran to her father, Joshua Moore, yelling for help as she told him that, “A man tried to abduct Hayden.”
She’s got great survival instincts.
Joshua said he ran to the front yard before spotting the man walking down the street.
He exercised impressive self control too.
“I said, ‘Excuse me, did you touch my child?’ And he just threw his arms out like this and continued walking. At that point, I came back. My daughter was crying and upset, and we called police,” Moore said.
The police were notified and were soon at the location, closing off the area. Officers located the man on Mayview Avenue. After taking Julianne’s detailed description, they arrested him.
Pedro Luyando, 33, of Cleveland, was charged with abduction.
“My heart dropped because I know that I saved my brother. He would not be here right now,” she said.
Thanks to Julianne’s quick thinking and action, Hayden is still home safe.
Imagine how much self control Joshua exercised by not getting physical with Luyando.
Sadly, not a lot of them find their way back home.
Julianne is a very smart, very sharp young lady who really saved her brother from harm.
Luyando, based on the photo, is a big man.
“What an AMAZING sister “it’s never good to panic, I could’ve wasted time doing that” wow, she is going to grow into an amazing young woman. TOUGH, SMART and STRONG. You go girl!” commented a very impressed viewer.
Hayden knows that too. The siblings are obviously very close and this incident only further sealed that bond.
