The incident occurred in Texas at a Fort Worth McDonald’s, where Jamie Hubbard and her 3-year-old son, T.J. were dining one day.

Little T.J. loves motorcycles and was amazed to see a police officer’s bike sitting outside the fast food joint.

Inside, the mom and son spotted the officer and joked about T.J. taking the motorcycle for a spin.

The owner of the bike, Officer Colter, said that his boss probably wouldn’t be too happy about letting such a young kid ride around on his vehicle, but still wanted to do something to brighten little T.J.’s day.

He ran out of the restaurant and into the rain to collect a police badge sticker from his bike and handed it over to the young boy.

The little boy was so grateful for the officer’s gesture that he wanted to repay him with a hug.

Jamie filmed the scene as her timid toddler walked slowly across to Officer Colter and stood beside his table.

The officer looked up, saying hello and wondering what T.J. had to say for himself.

Little T.J. then looked back to his mom, who tells Officer Colter, “He wanted to give you a hug!”

“Oh he wanted to give me a hug? Okay!” replies the kind cop, leaning down and placing his arm around the young boy.

It’s such a super cute moment as the officer and child share a gentle embrace, and we can see what it means to both of them.

The hug only lasts a second or two before T.J. runs back to his mama, but it’s super sweet to see, especially when we learn that T.J. is normally very shy around strangers.

Jamie revealed that her son had never hugged a stranger before and is usually quite quiet around people he doesn’t know, but felt compelled to show his gratitude to Officer Colter for his kindness.

The officer said he was “honored” to have received such a lovely act of kindness from the cute kid, and the clip was later shared on the official Fort Worth Police Department Facebook page, being viewed over 1 million times and attracting countless comments, likes, and shares.

Many viewers of the video said that they were touched by the boy’s kindness, while others applauded the cop for his generosity too.

We think that both Officer Colter and little T.J. are heroes in their own right! Enjoy the video in the player below to see the touching hug for yourself.
