Are you a fan of tiny houses?
If you are, then you might enjoy watching featured tiny homes on TV shows or YouTube channels.
It’s always fun to see how people maximize a tiny space and turn it into a functional home, right?
Jenna Spesard, the owner of the blog and YouTube channel “Tiny House Giant Journey,” featured Cameron or Cam and his 20ft shipping container home a few days ago.
In the video, Cam tours Jenna and tells the story of how his tiny but functional home started.
The challenge of making a DIY container home
When it comes to designing homes, Cam is already considered a pro.
He went to architectural school for six years and even got his master’s degree.
So Cam knew what he was doing. It all started as a plan, and soon, he was on his way to building his dream project.
Even though he was confident with his skills, building his own home came as a challenge. He wanted to maximize what he had, and that’s what challenged him.
His space was limited, but he wanted a functional home.
Cam visualized a home where he can move around and feel comfortable at the same time.
A tiny house that he can call home.
Movable pieces to maximize space
He built everything from scratch, and there are three very impressive things that he’s proud of.
Cam wanted to relax and enjoy the view, but since he only has limited space, he thought of a way to maximize his living room/bedroom.
He built an elevator bed that can be prepared in just a minute or two.
He also made sure that there’s enough space so that he won’t have a hard time fixing the bed.
Next is his office table/dining table.
You can easily put the table down if you are not using it and simply pull it up when you need it.
What we love the most is the rolling closet that doubles as your door when you need to do your business.
Tiny home over a running stream
Now, tiny functional homes are already beautiful, but Cam made sure that his tiny home is unique.
Want to know why?
His tiny shipping container home is located over a running stream! How gorgeous is that?
Can you imagine relaxing and living in a tiny home like this?
Away from the city and enjoying nature?
The sound of the water from the stream will be your lullaby as you fall asleep!
Cam really did a great job creating this masterpiece!
The talented architect tried living in this tiny home for a few months, and according to him, he’s proud of his project, so he decided to list it on Airbnb.
Cam is now very busy building himself not one but two tiny houses again!
