It is never too late and you are never too old to follow your dreams. Don’t let anyone tell you differently!
There’s this unsaid belief that in order to do something in the entertainment industry — like dancing, singing, or acting — you need to be young. It’s like people think that once you’re older than 16, you no longer have a shot.
Well, we’re here to tell you — and to show you — that is simply not true. And actually, we have these two to help us out as well.
Two years ago, in May 2018, a video of a senior couple was uploaded to Youtube. It quickly went viral and now, has over 5 million views.
Once you see it for yourself, you will understand why.
The reason why it’s so popular is that it is so impressive. These two senior folks were swing dancing together and on top of that, they were actually amazing.
They made it look so easy, as if they whip out those dance moves every day for fun (and honestly, we wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case!). They clearly have so much experience and love dancing, it shows in their performance.
Awesome dance moves.
The dance moves they pull out are spectacular. They are so in sync as they move so quickly, covering every inch of the dancefloor. They nail some spins and dips with absolute grace and enthusiasm. At one point, they even play a little bit to the crowd as they shimmy towards them.
Not only are they nailing the dance moves with their bodies, but their facial expressions speak for themselves. They look so happy and comfortable in their own skin, you would think this was the greatest moment of their lives.
The way that they are smiling from cheek to cheek — it is so obviously a rush of pure joy that they felt in that moment.
The music they dance to makes it even better.
The song they are dancing to is called “Down The Road Apiece” by The Refreshments and it just takes the entire performance to another level. It has the perfect amount of swing to it and leans into the happy atmosphere, making it impossible for every viewer to not have a huge smile on their face.
You can actually see how happy the crowd is too, just from watching the two nail every move. Everyone in the crowd is smiling so big and cheering them on as they add to the music and clap to the beat.
You could never tell.
Sure, maybe you can tell by their grey hair that they are older… But you could never tell that just judging based on their dance moves. Both of them are moving at the speed of light — it’s pretty hard to beat that.
And they dance for a while, too! The video clocks in at nearly 5 minutes and they don’t stop moving during the entire duration. Not a single break is to be had and they still managed to keep their energy high throughout the entire show.
So, for anyone who feels like it’s too late to pursue your dreams, we are here to tell you that it is not too late! Anything is impossible, and you can even end up being at the top of your game. Don’t give up.
