They say that Christmas is the season of giving.
And it hits differently when you’re able to make someone happy during the season.
Knowing that everyone went through various challenges throughout the year, it’s gratifying to be able to fulfill someone’s wishes before the year ends.
While it’s rewarding to do that to our loved ones, there are also some people who do not hesitate to do the same thing even to strangers.
This is what a Secret Santa did in Eastern Idaho.
With the help of East Idaho News, this Secret Santa was able to bring some happiness to a couple, Vinnie and Cindy.
The year had been tough for the two of them as Vinne was rushed to the hospital last August.
He was a hardworking man and was working as a welder/fabricator for Idahoan Foods.
Vinnie suffered a stroke and sadly, it affected his eyes and throat.
According to East Idaho News, his eyes were 11 units off. This means that Vinnie’s “one eye sees about 11 inches off the other one.”
What Vinnie went through is unimaginable. Knowing that he had been working for 26 years, it’s heartbreaking that he couldn’t go back to work in the meantime.
Vinnie’s health suffered significantly as a result of a stroke.
Whenever he opens his eyes, he also faces double vision, vertigo, and even dizziness. Although he was able to go home after a month, he had to use a wheelchair as his vision and appetite were both affected.
After a few weeks, Vinnie suffered another dilemma.
He was then taken to the ICU as he suffered three seizures as well as heart complications.
Dealing with health issues is sure not easy.
What’s even worse is it makes it hard for him to work on their daily needs.
Aside from not being able to go back to work, it’s also difficult to do even simple household chores.
Thankfully, his wife Cindy, was there for him while he was recovering.
The couple only had simple wishes this coming Christmas.
They only wanted some firewood to keep them warm during winter and special glasses for Vinnie.
But what they received was even bigger.
Thanks to this Secret Santa who was willing to spend a huge amount of money to help those who are in need.
Secret Santa granted what they wanted for Christmas and made it even more special.
He provided them with $1,000 so Vinnie could finally use special glasses, which will help him see.
They were also handed 3,000 worth of grocery gift cards.
Additionally, the couple received firewood worth $2,000 from Secret Santa, which they could use throughout the entire winter season.
Vinnie and Cindy’s reactions to their special gifts were priceless.
Condy couldn’t help but get emotional upon hearing the good news.
She couldn’t believe it when she saw the check as well as the gift cards.
And when she was told that they have 5 trucks of firewood, she was in awe.
The story of this couple is indeed a ray of hope to everyone.
It’s a timely reminder that even though there are challenges coming your way, there is still hope at the end of the day.
Likewise, it shows how a person’s generosity can change someone’s life.
