The elderly woman had been serving the Belle Elementary School in West Virginia as the school custodian. On every shift, she was always ready with a smile, and people in the school were always happy to see her around.

She was such a kind and loved part of the school that the teachers, workers, and children at the school decided to surprise her with a birthday party. The fact that the senior had never had a party to celebrate her birthday made the occasion even more special.

Frances grew up with little in life, but she never forgot to smile at people, especially children at school.

According to the custodian, her family attempted to give her a birthday party once but “it was so icy and cold, nobody came.” After finding out about this, the faculty led by the principal, Amanda Mays, thought of giving the dedicated custodian the party that she deserved.

A little after lunch ended, Frances and her co-worker Rendell Heater heard an announcement that they were needed in the school cafeteria. The two of them quickly headed there, and just when they were about to turn the corner towards the cafe, Frances was met with a loud round of applause.

She expected to clean the place, but instead, she was met with the bright smiles of people who loved and cared for her. Frances was led to her throne where Principal Amanda Mays gave her a crown and a sash.

It was Frances’ day and she was definitely the star.
