Moms know the struggle of putting everyone else’s needs above their own.
Rida is one of those millions of mothers. Rida never gave herself any “me time” because she was making sure everyone around her was being taken care of.
That includes her mother too, who has dementia and lived in a nursing home nearby her own house. Rida’s children wanted to give surprise her with a gift that only focused on her. They knew she watched The MAKEOVER GUY’s makeovers on YouTube.
Rida’s children surprised her with a makeover with the MAKEOVER GUY himself.
Rida is from New Brighton, Minnesota. So, she did not have to travel far to The MAKEOVER GUY Appearance Studios in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The MAKEOVER Guy, Christopher Hopkins, is the go to makeover specialist.
He has given thousands of makeovers, including on television programs such as the The Oprah Winfrey Show. Clients travel from all over the United States to receive their makeover from his studio. Many even have to wait for a year a more just to get their reservation!
Rida was in for a full day just focused on her. The MAKEOVER GUY was going to make her inner beauty shine bright on the outside too.
Rida admitted to the Christopher and his staff that she had never colored her hair before. rarely cuts it and does not wear much make up.
She doesn’t wear much make up because she is a self proclaimed homebody that leaves the house mostly to visit her mother at the nursing home and that she fits in very well there. This was not going to suffice for Christopher and his staff.
“Let’s not do that. You are too young for that. You are awfully young to be old,” Christopher Hopkins tells Rida after her admission.
What is great about The MAKEOVER GUY Appearance Studio makeover is the silhouette analysis clients receive.
Rida is given a small booklet and goes through an analysis with a staff member, in this case with Joann Hopkins (Christopher’s mother). This analysis is too help clients, such as Rida, understand the best clothing, hair, and makeup style that will best suit their own bodies.
The MAKEOVER GUY does not want Rida, and other clients, to have a makeover and only feel great about it for one day.
They want their clients to know how to keep their new style when they go back home.
Rida told Christoper Hopkins she wanted a fun and different new look.
“Fun and different, okay. Don’t say anymore,” Christopher, the makeover visionary, told Rida.
As Rida’s makeover was nearing completion, Christoper was getting more and more excited about Rida’s daughters reactions. Her two daughters were only becoming more excited throughout the day and could not wait to see their mother.
Rida’s two daughters traveled with Rida for the makeover but Rida’s son could not make it.
The daughters had not seen her all day and were waiting downstairs for their mother’s well deserved makeover reveal.
Rida finally came downstairs to introduce her new self to her daughters. Her daughters were instantly in tears and shock. While they might have been crying, it was tears of joy. They had smiles as big as their mother’s and loved her new look.
Christopher joked that they have a new sister and not a mom!
Most importantly, Rida loved her transformed look. She admitted that she finally felt pretty. Everyone could see she was pretty before but Rida could not see if for herself, now she can.
