Figuring out what to do with your hair is hard enough. Do you cut it, dye it, or try something bold? But when you have the people you love voicing their opinions – it can make it that much harder!
54-year-old Rhonda from Oklahoma was in this type of predicament. While she preferred a shorter hairdo, her children thought she should have it long. So, Rhonda listened to them and began growing out her locks.
That wasn’t the end of it though.
Instead of letting her kids have the final say, she booked an appointment with The Makeover Guy in the hopes of finding a look she loved.
She had her reasons.
Rhonda thought she was “too old” for long hair. As a teacher of four-year-olds, she’d always throw it up into a ponytail – and according to Rhonda, she was “too old” for that type of hairstyle. She wanted a shorter do that would be easier to manage in the classroom.
The mom didn’t feel like a woman in her 50s.
As we age, we’re forced to pick whether to go au naturel or take paths to try and keep a more youthful appearance. While some women go to extremes, others make simple changes to try and look their best.
Rhonda felt like she was just 34-years-old on the inside. Lucky for her, Christopher Hopkins (aka The Makeover Guy) has an amazing gift for helping women achieve a younger appearance and feel more confident.

The Makeover Guy would help make the final decision when it came to Rhonda’s hair length.
To cut or not to cut, that’s what Christopher was going to decide! Her kids were going to have to accept it too.
During her interview, Rhonda (who recently became a grandma) explained:
“I’ve been letting it grow, but I feel like I’m too old to have long hair. I think it’s just too thin and fine. I like for it to be short and kind of puffy. So I tell them whatever Christopher says is the way it’s going to be.”
She’s transformed into a blonde bombshell.
After a fun day of beauty, Rhonda ends up with a gorgeous new look (all thanks to The Makeover Guy and his team). She looks absolutely stunning with a shorter blonde hairdo and a dramatic face of makeup.
Christopher explained on YouTube:
“We boosted the blonde, gave her some dramatic eyes and created a stacked, inverted, chin-length bob. One of the rare few who can wear her hair around her heart shaped face.”
He went on to say:
“I didn’t think she was “too old” for long hair, but since she didn’t feel good with her hair long and it did not suit her sassy personal style we decided this would be a good compromise.”
But would her kids “approve” of her shorter hairstyle?
During the video, they actually FaceTime Rhonda’s adult daughter to see what she thinks. The woman ends up saying that it’s “children approved.”
But most importantly, Rhonda’s happy with her fantastic new look! She shares:
“I see a better me! This will withstand the wind and the four-year-olds. I love it.”
