Two girls were given a very special gift coming from their friend and favorite quarterback, and it was something that both of them will never forget.
Allie and Julia look like they are sisters, but they are not.

Although they are not related by blood, these girls share a lot of things in common. One of the common denominators between Allie and Julia is their friendship.
“They were friends from the beginning,” Allie’s mom shared with KARE 11. “Julia came to Allie’s first birthday.”
The girls are always smiling and happy. They have the same interests and likes, and both were born with Down syndrome.

Another common thing about these lovely girls was their shared fondness for one particular quarterback on their school’s football team.
That guy is Bennett Otto. He also happens to be their friend.

The girls and Bennett met one summer after Allie’s trampoline got destroyed because of a storm. To help her buy a new one, students at Champlin Park worked together to build a fund. That is when Bennett met the girls.
“My friend asked me to help them set it up,” he said. “That’s how I first met these two.”
What drew Bennett closer to Julia and Allie was the way they stayed optimistic and happy. He found them enjoyable to be with, and fun to be around.

Eventually, Bennett began to notice that Julia and Allie always came to his games.
The girls were like a ray of sunshine that cheered him up, especially when their team lost the game.
“After a tough loss from a football or basketball game I could come to them and they’d pick me up,” Otto told KARE 11.
Because of their optimism and infectious smiles, Bennett found himself uplifted whenever he was around Julia and Allie. Their happiness and genuine smiles gave him a reason to smile after a tough loss.

Bennett appreciated the way the girls always helped him smile again, so he decided to give back and do something for them.
“I wanted to invite them to homecoming coronation because it’s something they’ll probably never get to do in their life and I wanted to give them that chance,” Bennett said.
When Julia and Allie heard about it, they could not be happier! They were so excited and totally looked forward to the special event.
They accepted Bennett’s invitation to accompany him to the homecoming coronation.
“I’m so excited,” Allie said.

Julia and Allie had professional stylists work on them to prepare them for the special day.
Their moms also helped by picking out their dresses. They even got bouquets and corsages, which only made the amazing day even more prom-like.
Bennett handed the flowers to his lovely friends after being escorted by them as he attended the homecoming coronation.
It was a perfect day for the girls.

Julia and Allie absolutely enjoyed the event with Bennett. The experience was perfect and their smiles say it all.
Unfortunately, Bennett did not win the title of Homecoming King, but he certainly won an award after seeing that his friends truly enjoyed the moment he decided to spend with them.
