Pregnancy can be a pretty weird time. While a woman and her partner prepare for the life-altering journey of parenthood, her body can undergo some pretty drastic changes. Sometimes, this entails extreme pregnancy cravings.
One TikToker documented this exact phenomenon when he made a video about his wife’s cravings. She is pregnant for the first time, and TikToker (@areuarel, aka Arel Tangguh) recorded a strange pregnancy craving his wife was experiencing.
This pregnancy comes with one craving you probably never heard of.
In fact, it’s not a regular food craving. It’s more like an oral fixation. That’s because Arel’s wife craves the sensation of biting his fingers.
Yeah, you read that right. His wife wants to bite his fingers. This is most likely caused by changes in her hormones, as with any other craving. But Arel’s wife sure does have a unique wish. Arel recorded a TikTok about this craving just to show exactly how this works.
Sometimes her biting leaves marks.
Arel is a really good husband because every time his wife has this particular craving, he obliges. Unfortunately for him, she does not go gentle on him.
At the beginning of the TikTok, Arel shows his facial expression, scrunched up in pain. Then, he pans to show what is causing him so much discomfort: it’s his wife, absentmindedly biting his fingers, hard. At one point, he zooms in on his fingers to show the damage that his wife causes him. She bites so hard she leaves teeth marks!
Arel is a very patient husband for putting up with this.
Some people have compared this phenomenon to a teething baby, so it makes sense that Arel is so patient with his wife. It seems like he’s already prepared to be a good dad!
Uncomfortable faces aside, Arel is being really understanding of his wife right now. Watching the TikTok, it’s obvious that he loves her a lot and just wants to make her happy. While pregnancy may not be the most comfortable experience for women or their partners, it’s good to have someone as supportive as Arel.
Arel’s wife isn’t the only person to ever have surprising pregnancy cravings.
Pregnant women tend to desire things that seem downright strange to those of us who are have not experienced pregnancy. So while Arel’s wife certainly does have a strange craving, she is not the only one. Other strange pregnancy cravings include: Clam Chowder with Doritos, Bacon covered in Dark Chocolate, and Tomatoes smothered in icing.
