Don’t mess with the sun.
In some ways, it’s a bringer of life. But it’s also a deadly force.
There’s really no escaping the sun. Humanity’s been battling it for millennia! Personally, I prefer fun in the sun.
So grab your hat and shades, here are 30 photos that demonstrate the sheer power of the sun right here on Earth.
It’s gonna be a sunny one!
1. Steering wheel sun
The steering wheel gets hot. Like hot hot. A nice pair of oven mitts will do the trick. That’s why they were invented, right?
2. Melting dog
Aww, poor thing. This dog is melting into the floor. Well, warm air does rise. Best to stay low.
3. Popsicle cats
Ah yes, the ice cream fridge. A staple. These cats are more into popsicles than I would have ever imagined. Plus, they’re super adorable.
4. Eggs sunny side up
How do you like your eggs? If you like them sunny side up, take them outside on a sunny summer day. This is nature doing its thing.
5. Fan man
He’s a man with a plan. He’s the fan man. That’s literally the most individual fans I’ve seen together in one place in my life.
6. Cat chillin’
It’s a hot day. Every spot in the house is scorching. Except one final haven… This is hilarious.
7. Melted tires
Melting tires isn’t an easy thing to do. That takes some serious heat. Those poor tires! They look like donuts.
8. Liquid stoplight
Everyone hates waiting at stoplights. Apparently the sun does too. That stoplight had a family.
9. Sunny day sombrero
This sombrero might look ridiculous… But it’s a lifesaver. What a world. What a hat.
10. Heat tattoo
The sun baked the text receipt right into the egg! That doesn’t look all that safe to eat… You could probably make eggs on the sidewalk in that heat!
11. Ice brick
Is that a brick of ice? What is he gripping? Can you get frostbite that way? This doesn’t seem healthy!
12. RIP ice cream
Do you scream for ice cream? I scream for ice cream. I scream for the ice cream truck we lost on the way! This has to be a gag.
13. Two tires
The sun melted not one, but at least two good tires. They’re in pretty rough shape… This is a humble reminder that sun exposure is a force to be reckoned with!
14. Melted wall
It takes a lot, I mean a lot of heat to melt a fence. I wonder what this was made of? Is that brick? Or maybe stone? Either way…
15. Dying blinds
Blinds have it pretty bad. They spend their entire days battling the heat… just for us! Look what we did to these poor blinds.
16. Dead air freshener
Air fresheners have it pretty bad sometimes. They sit in the car literally all day. The greenhouse effect can get deadly during the summer! RIP this freshener.
17. Aluminum
The sun spares no one. Not even aluminum. Look at the giant array on the right. That looks like it hurts.
18. Melted styrofoam tombstone
Styrofoam tombstones can add some nice flair to a yard. Unfortunately, this one now rests in peace after a little bit of sun damage. Halloween should be a national holiday and day off work.
19. Frost
Frost on cars can make the morning drive frigid. The sun can sometimes remedy those pains. A little bit of heat can go a long way!
20. Water wax
So here’s what happened: the candle holder trapped some water before the sun melted the wax. The wax floated to the top of the water and then dried, trapping the water under the cooled wax. Now, it looks like this.
21. Cup catastrophe
Party cups are an essential at any gathering. But don’t leave them in the sun for too long! We lost one…
22. Melted cone
A melted ice cream cone is the worst. But what about a melted traffic cone? That’s a lot harder to achieve.
23. Hot rock
This is fascinating. The rock absorbs heat from the sun, influencing the pattern of the ice below! Nature is delightful.
24. Snow day
The courtyard looks as beautiful as it does unique. The building honestly looks like my old elementary school. They should hang this picture up inside for everyone to see!
25. KO’d candles
These candles couldn’t stay erect in the heat. They’ve lost all of their swagger. Blame it on the sun.
26. Banana
That’s a melted banana by the way. The sun destroyed it so hard that it now looks like feces. Yeah, the sun is that powerful even that far away.
27. Car melt
This poor car’s been through alot. I wonder how long it’s been sitting out there. The background sky looks dangerously muggy.
28. Sighing candle
Life’s been tough for this candle these days. The sun’s really deflated it, taking the wind right out of its sails. It’s getting better, though.
29. Evaporation
This frost has met its match. It’s cold, but the sun kicks things up another notch. Nature is so beautiful!
30. Bike shadows
The sun melts anything it gets its rays on. A small bit of snow was spared… Look closely at the bikes’ shadows.
