We can all agree that seeing celebrities reach out and help other regular working folk like us is always refreshing to watch.
They have all the money in the world so going out of the way to help those in need is a blessing especially in this age of “self-love”.
Rachael Ray is one of those famous personalities.
She was once famous for her cooking show, but nowadays, Ray hosts her own show where she talks about anything and everything related to the lives of women.
And what better way to empower others than with a well-deserved makeover?
Rachael has her good friend, actress Jessica Alba, on the show for this one, and together, they reach out and surprise a female police officer.
One, as the officer’s sisters say, really needs and deserves a big change especially after her husband passed away.
She’s a hardworking mom too!
Susan lost her husband years ago. She’s been holding on to her waist-length hair because her late husband didn’t like it when she cut it.
But Susan’s sisters say this police officer is now ready for a new chapter so a fabulous new look is in the works after they nominated her for a surprise makeover.
This was where actress and Honest Company mogul Jessica Alba came in to play.
A short video presentation was the surprise reveal as to who won the sponsored makeover, with Rachael Ray teasing her audience as all good show hosts do.
You can see Susan’s surprise as the screens play the video and her sisters’ faces appear for everyone to see.
And she thought she was just there to watch the show.
Susan was beaming until her sisters mention her late husband, at which point she begins tearing up.
She even glances up at the sky, probably to clear her eyes or remember her husband as well. Susan may not want to admit it, but it’s clear that she could use a new look.
A makeover has the power to help someone move on with life.
Rachael and Jessica have Susan come up and join them where they proceed to talk abut her hair and everything else related to the officer’s life.
Then Alba’s team takes over.
Jessica’s own hair and makeup team gave Susan (and her stunningly long hair) a fun, tousled new ‘do using Honest Beauty hair care.
Then they styled her in a slinky fitted dress, using Jessica’s Honest Beauty line to freshen up her makeup routine.
Talk about completely transforming this police officer’s look!
And Susan didn’t forget to help others as she paid it forward by donating her hair to Locks of Love, which provides wigs to children in need.
YouTube viewers are loving Susan’s transformation. One of them said,
“Beautiful blue dress on her, comfortable type but flattering! It was nice they kept her hair somewhat long, but they could have done more dramatic layers. Super long hair can bring your face longer. It’s so difficult to manage a style, besides I think uniform is to keep it pulled back. What a positive way to help someone feel confident and ready for relationship.”
Jessica Alba is a beauty and she definitely knows what she’s doing!
And thanks to her, somewhere up there, Susan’s husband is beaming with love and joy.
Must be fun to have Rachael Ray next door. She seems to be so down to earth and just willing to help or give advice when it comes to cooking and anything else related to daily life.
Though it would also be awesome to have Jessica Alba next door….
