This cop is a true gentleman. He knows to make way for this duck and her chicks to safely cross the street. How thoughtful! And they say chivalry is dead.

9. Even animals suffer during fires
Fires can be devastating to humans. Losing your home and all your possessions, I can’t even imagine. But animals are also victims of fires too. Thankfully, this kind firefighter remembered to look out for this adorable koala.
10. He helped his disabled brother cross the finish line
Just because you are disabled does not mean you are limited. Sometimes, you just need an extra hand. This brother understood that message fully as he helped his disabled brother cross the finish line. How inspiring.
11. Saving those who can’t do it themselves
What a generous act. This woman risked her life to help this small, helpless pup during a time of intense flooding. I’m sure she’ll be rewarded for her selfless act.
Dog is man’s best friend, even beyond death. Hopefully this pup is meeting his owner in his dreams. What a good, sweet boy.
13. Moms are all the same, regardless of species
It doesn’t matter if you’re a human, cat, dog or kangaroo – moms will be the same regardless of which animal kingdom they belong to. They will be protective of you, watch over you, help you grow, and most importantly, love you unconditionally.

Soldiers give an amazing sacrifice. When they leave their homes for active duty, they don’t always know if they’re coming back. But thankfully, this mom did, and the relief on her face just warms my heart.

The term “first world problems” can ring true in certain situations. While people are burning their Nikes, others would be grateful just to have shoes at all. Let’s all try to remember to be thankful for everything we have.

This one tugs on my heartstrings. This 19-year-old dog named Schoep suffers from arthritis. Every day, his owner, John, takes his furry friend for a swim in Lake Superior, where the water’s buoyancy helps with Schoep’s pain. You can see how relaxed he is as the dog falls asleep in his best friend’s arms.
25. Boy and service dog have an inseparable bond
Lucas Hembree adores his service dog, Juno. In a beautifully captured photo, the two share a moment. What an amazing bond.
26. Man will do anything to save his wife
When this man learned his wife needed a new kidney, he was willing to do anything. Actually anything – including walking around town with a large sign over his neck. What commitment to being there in sickness and in health.
27. Woman kisses her cousin’s funeral hearse
Helen Fisher couldn’t contain her grief. During the funeral service of her 20-year-old cousin, Private Douglas Halliday, she kissed the hearse carrying his body. His funeral took place in Wootton Bassett, England.
28. Man re-teaches his girlfriend the alphabet
When this man’s girlfriend lost her memory, he stepped up. He helped her as she went back to basics, such as learning the alphabet. Love is patient and love is kind.
29. Man finds photo album after earthquake
Earthquakes can be devastating. One earthquake survivor found a photo album of cherished memories in the remains of his home after a powerful earthquake in Sichuan, China. The emotion on his face speaks for itself.
30. Photographer gives boy with disabilities physical freedom
Photography isn’t just taking pretty pictures. It can also reimagine life. Photographer and friend Matej Peljhan gave 12-year-old Luka physical freedom. Luka is confined to a wheelchair due to muscular dystrophy, but in the eye of Matej, he is a star basketball player.
31. Soldier feeds 2-week-old orphaned kitty
This two-week-old kitten was orphaned after her mother was killed during a mortar attack in Korea.
Marine Sergeant Frank Praytor helped feed her. He also named her Miss Hap.
32. Soldier sees his baby for the first time
Imagine being deployed abroad to come home and have a new member of the family waiting to greet you. This soldier got to experience this joy in this beautifully captured photo. So touching.
33. Terminally ill mother watches her daughter get married
This is one instance where the advancement of technology is amazing. This terminally ill mom could not physically be there for her daughter’s wedding. But thanks to Skype, she didn’t have to miss a minute of it.
34. Two volunteer teachers teach homeless children
These two teachers take their oath of educating children seriously. They went out of their way to teach homeless and impoverished children in New Delhi, India, just to ensure they get an education. And they’re doing it all for free, just out of the goodness of their hearts.
35. Woman continues to have lunch with her husband every day
Want an idea of what true love looks like? This is one example. Despite her husband’s passing, this woman is still committed to having lunch with him every day.
Sometimes life can be unbearably tragic. Other times, it can be ethereal.
