We’re always told never to judge a book by its cover. To not judge a situation at first glance. Or to walk a mile in someone else’s shoes.

But to practice these things is easier said than done. It’s easy to make quick judgments without giving much thought.

However, judging things at first glance and making assumptions about people could lead to a perception that could be further from the truth.

A man named Adam Bosler took a photo of his neighbors and posted it on Facebook for a beautiful reminder to everyone — love and marriage are all about compassion and compromise. His post was going to go viral with over 3,800 shares.

He posted a picture of his neighbors across the street — the wife, Jessica, was pushing a lawnmower. The husband, Ryan, was walking beside her.

If someone were just to be casually walking or driving by, they might look at that situation and wonder why the husband was letting his wife do all the work while he just walks casually. But this was not the case whatsoever.

When Adam Bosler posted the picture on Facebook, he wanted to bring the fact to life that things aren’t always what they seem. If fact — they could be so much more touching than you could ever imagine.

Ryan needs to go to dialysis 3 times a week; he’s awaiting a kidney transplant. He’s a police officer and active in the community. Attempting to the mow the lawn, he became quickly exhausted.

Jessica saw that her husband was struggling and changed her clothes into something more comfortable. She immediately took over the mower duties. But the sweet gesture didn’t end there.

Instead of going inside and letting his wife finish mowing the lawn herself, he stayed by her side and walked with her. This was the message that Adam Bosler wanted to share.

“No matter what, they’re side by side, helping one another and never leaving the other one behind. If there’s anything I can learn from these good friends, it’s the loyalty they put forth together.”
