One thing that affects people’s mental health is online bashing.

Unfortunately, it has become more widespread nowadays.

It’s sad to think that many people don’t mind hurting someone’s feelings so long as they are able to express their thoughts.

Obviously, social bashing is more rampant among celebrities.

Although some personalities just choose to shrug off hate comments, we don’t have an idea of how these affect them when they are alone. If harsh comments are painful for ordinary people, it’s also the same for them.

Celebrities are just humans.

They get hurt, too. But because being emotionally tough is a requirement in their job, they have to stay strong. But it doesn’t mean they don’t get affected.

On the flip side, there are also some celebrities who are brave enough to respond to unwanted comments. You have surely seen famous stars who hit back at their bashers by replying to them with dauntless and even witty messages.

Patton Oswalt recently called out a troll on Twitter.

If you haven’t heard about it, then you will surely be amazed at how he dealt with it.

He replied with unabashed kindness.

The man with Twitter username Michael Beatty left a harsh statement against him.

“I just realized why I was so happy you died in Blade Trinity!”

Patton took to Twitter to let everyone know that a man was attacking him. He then checked the man’s account where he found out that he was going through tough times.

“Aw, man. This dude just attacked me on Twitter and I joked back but then I looked at his timeline and he’s in a LOT of trouble health-wise,” he wrote.

Michael, who is a Vietnam veteran, needed help after being hospitalized for two weeks due to sepsis. So Oswalt set up a GoFundMe to raise funds.

Instead of getting furious at the guy, Patton shared the link of his GoFundMe and sincerely asked his followers to donate.

“I’d be pissed off too. He’s been dealt some shitty cards — let’s deal him some good ones. Click and donate — just like I’m about to.”

Wait, there’s more.

Oswalt punched up by promoting the guy’s GoFundMe, but that wasn’t all.

He also personally shelled out $2000 to the cause.

Woah! A lot of people were amazed by Patton’s kindness and for being so compassionate, even to his detractor.

“Patton, we disagree on almost everything (although I’m a fan). But please understand I’m being sincere when I say I’m very impressed, and your kindness and generosity are indeed praiseworthy,” one Twitter user said.

What Patton did is such a big move. And thankfully, Michael appreciated it a lot. He even penned a heartwarming message for Patton and the other people who sent him monetary help.

He was amazed and speechless. Who wouldn’t be? He had no idea that bashing the famous comedian would change his life. Especially in such a positive manner.

Michael was so thankful for what Patton did and said that he planned to pay it forward to his cousin, who also needed help.

Patton’s kindness resulted in something big.

Presently, Michael’s GoFundMe has already raised over $48,000 and one of the largest donations was from Patton himself.

Patton Oswalt- let us never forget this name. He has made us laugh with his movies and TV shows but his kindness will always remain in people’s hearts.
