Think back to when you were a kid. Didn’t you love spending time with your grandparents? If you were like a lot of children, it was always great to have grandma and grandpa around.

They’re like your parents, only better. And the best part is when they come over to babysit. They let you get away with everything your parents would never let you do.

Taking a vacation

Recently, one grandpa decided to watch his grandson Ty while the baby’s parents took a trip out of town. Ty’s mom, Stephanie Waterhouse, wasn’t worried about her son. She knew he’d be fine in Paw Paw’s hands.

Coming from far away

This would be sweet for any grandpa to do. But this was a super-special situation. This baby’s Paw Paw flew in from Dallas, Texas just to spend time with his grandson. How precious is that?

A funny idea

As much as this grandpa loves spending time with his grandson, you have to keep in mind that Ty was only eight months old. So, he really couldn’t do much to keep Paw Paw entertained. Luckily, the grandpa found something to keep himself busy.

Frequent updates

Since Paw Paw still carried a flip phone, the Waterhouse couple wasn’t expecting a lot of high-quality photos. Not only that but also, this grandpa doesn’t know much about memes. Regardless, he still managed to send some adorable meme-like photos to Ty’s parents.

Lots of pictures

Of course, this grandpa was taking a lot of photos. But he also paired them with cute messages. The result were texts that just about any parent would love to receive.

Updates from the baby

The messages this grandpa sent were super creative and fun. For instance, one of them read, “Dad and Mom, We partied with veggies and binge-watched Sesame Street. No worries. Love, Ty.”

All part of the plan

But Paw Paw didn’t come up with this idea on the spot. He’d thought of it long before traveling to babysit. Even better, he’d printed out the messages at home before even getting on the plane.

Some really funny messages

There are a ton of messages and pictures to go along with them. Another one said this, “Dad and Mom, We looked at Jeeps today. Can I get a license early? I liked the red one. Love, Ty.”

On a shopping spree

Don’t worry…grandpa and the baby didn’t spend all day inside the house taking pictures. They decided to go out and do something fun as well. That’s why grandpa took Ty to see different cars. There’s even a picture of the baby with the aforementioned red Jeep.

Grandpa wasn’t always low-tech

Paw Paw might not know what a meme is now, but he’s plenty tech-savvy. Stephanie said, “My dad is a recently retired Dallas Police Officer. He was actually the person who created the database that tracked information for the Dallas Police Department. The FBI took his idea and modeled one of their national databases after the one he created.”
