Everyone’s tried dancing. It doesn’t matter if you’ve made a total fool of yourself, you’ve at least given yourself a shot in the mirror.
Whether the mirror has cracked or not, it shouldn’t stop you from releasing that cooped up energy that’s stored in your muscles and joints for so long. In other words, dancing is a natural remedy we all need to use more to help us ease some of the pain of our normal day to day lives.
One police officer thought just that as he decided to join the pep rally at Memorial High School Frisco Texas in their gymnasium. He decided to entertain the crowd of students in a way they’ve never seen before. We’re willing to bet you’ve never seen a police officer throw down these awesome dance moves before!
The video starts off with the officer at center court with his hands buckled in his pockets.
He sports a classy set of aviators for shades and even unveils an outdoorsy country hat from a box to show off his bravado. The cop clearly was not embarrassed and his confidence definitely helped him deliver his performance way more smoothly.
As the officer readies himself, you can already start to feel the audience is filled with bubbling energy that’s bound to explode any second. Then, you can start hearing the sounds of the famous track, “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X ft. Billy Ray Cyrus in the background and that’s when things began to get more exciting.
Suddenly, the cop started breaking down his moves in the coolest way possible.
His subtle, yet purposeful moves showed that he there was definitely a pep to his step. He started with a classic “saddle ride” move to get things going.
He then proceeded to give us a taste of the “giddyup!” move which captured the audience’s attention immediately. What’s more is that the officer seemed to be enjoying it! He definitely was earning the spotlight and it seemed to keep burning brighter and brighter.
His final assembly of moves was subtle, yet powerful in many ways.
In a flash, he grabbed on to his belt buckle and went on to two step for a bit as he the video concluded. The students were definitely in for a treat when they saw this. Everyone will be walking away with a fresh new perspective on officers of the law after this performance.
The song that was playing was one of the biggest bangers of 2019. It accumulated a total of more than 106 million followers on Instagram and has gained national popularity almost overnight. The blazing hot song took off on TikTok as well and even landed top spots on Billboard’s cross-genre Hot 100 chart, the Hot Country Songs chart, and the Hot/Hip-Hop Songs chart all at the same time!
It was no secret that this cop felt like he could relate to his old town roots and give us a show worth watching again. His exuberant energy demonstrates that not all cops are straight edge enforcers looking to pick on the innocent on power hungry trips.
They’re just people like you and I. It’s important to remember that as we move forward to the new year and embrace our brothers and sisters in an umbrella of social equality.
