When people think of religious folk, meaning priests and nuns, they automatically imagine really strict and stuck up men and women who act holier than thou. That’s not always the case.
Nuns certainly remind us of penguins. Women who have devoted their life in service of God and church, all while living a very simple life. Check out the movie Sister Act and you’ll know what I mean.
You’d be surprised though at how much these priests and nuns like to get loose every once in awhile.
Just ask these nuns in the short story below!
While shopping in a food store, two nuns happened to pass by the beer cooler. One nun said to the other,
“Wouldn’t a nice cool beer or two taste wonderful on a hot summer evening?”
The second nun answered “Indeed it would, Sister, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable buying beer as I am certain that it would cause a scene at the checkout counter.”
“I can handle that without a problem” she replied as she picked up a six pack and headed for the checkout.
The cashier had a surprised look on his face when the two nuns arrived with a six pack of beer.
“We use beer for washing our hair” the nun said, “A shampoo, of sorts, if you will.”
Without blinking an eye, the cashier reached under the counter, pulled out a package of pretzel sticks and placed them in the bag with the beer.
He then looked the nun straight in the eye, smiled and said “The curlers are on the house.”
That’s a lot of shampoo for two women!
Must have been a bad hair day what with that veil and coif. If the other nuns see what they bought, there may be more sisters coming in to that store in a few hours.
Do they get a discount?
See, nuns are up early to do their daily chores and prayers. There’s lots to do in a convent. That includes being silent most of the time so these two sisters have loads to talk about!
All while doing each other’s hair of course.
Let’s just hope they’ve got a cool mother superior.
If they get caught.
It’s all in good fun, but truth is we all have to let loose and relax a little here and there!
