Having a husband who is a Navy Seal isn’t easy. You’re constantly worrying about whether or not you’ll get a terrifying phone call about their well-being.

Unfortunately, one day Laura Browning got that phone call saying that her husband had been in a terrible car accident that left him in a coma.

His chances of survival were slim.

Jon Browning was serving as a combat medic instructor in Virginia when he was in the accident where he suffered brain bleeding, brain and other injuries.

“I don’t have my husband to talk to,” said Laura, according to the Daily Mail. “Sometimes when I leave the hospital at the end of the day. I think, ‘I just miss my husband.”

He was left in a coma for two months. Laura never left his side throughout the whole ordeal.

Eventually, Jon was moved to a rehab facility and was able to breathe and eat on his own. Laura spends about 10 hours a day at the facility with Jon.

There are still things he needs help with, like brushing his teeth and getting dressed. He is unable to talk.

“Emotionally, it’s very hard to wonder whether he loves me,” Laura told Daily Mail. “We get a little bit of head nods and mouthing, but nothing consistent.”

If that wasn’t stressful enough, the family is now dealing with financial strain since it’s likely that Jon won’t work again and Laura had to take a break from her Pilates studio that she owns in North Carolina. A GoFundMe page has been started to support the family.

“The hardest part if reality hitting me,” said Laura. “I’m grieving the guy I married and our life, realizing the new life ahead will be just as beautiful.”

Jon was finally able to stand again with Laura’s help just four months after his accident. And all doubts of his whether or not he was still in love melted away after he leaned over and kissed her.

The beautiful moment was captured on video where she helps to lift him out of the wheelchair.

“That’s the best you’ve stood up yet,” his physical trainer tells him.

That’s when Jon leans in to give his wife a smooth on the lips and then on the neck.

“We hadn’t been able to stand and hold each other since before the accident, but soon as we got him up, he started kissing my neck,” Laura told Cosmopolitan. “It gave me the chills him kissing me back, you don’t realize how much that means until it’s almost taken away from you.”
