In other news, an episode of “Friends” just got a reboot in real life and the funny clip almost slipped off our radar.

A mom recently got herself into a pickle while moving the couch, and it was eerily reminiscent of that one time that Ross got himself in a similar jam trying to get his new sofa up the stairs.

They say life imitates art, and while that classic episode of Friends was part of “must-see TV” because it was pure comedy genius, this was no joking matter.

Or at least, it wasn’t funny to mom, anyways.

Her daughter, on the other hand, couldn’t stop laughing!

Claire Hickman told Inside Edition that her mother “thought that she was never gonna get back out, we had no way to get the couch out.”

In fact, Claire found it so hilarious that she immediately grabbed her smartphone to film her mom’s tiny hand waving frantically through a small opening beneath the sofa.

Not that waving her hand helped do anything for her, except to let her daughter know she was still alive.

This absurdly comical scene, where a hand reaches out to grab you from out of nowhere, would actually have made a great Halloween display.

But this was no zombie apocalypse.

It is, however, a great lesson in how NOT to use your eyeballs as a measuring tape.

The narrow distance between the two walls ended up being a much tighter fit than anyone anticipated.

As a result, mom ended up becoming the filling in this awkward sofa and staircase sandwich.

You might remember Ross screaming “PIVOT” to Chandler and Rachel as they tried to help him squeeze the sofa up the stairwell.

But no matter how much she tried, the poor woman just couldn’t pivot her way out of this mess.

And it wasn’t for a lack of trying. Claire told Inside Edition in an interview, “We tried, we tried our best, but I guess we failed to pivot.”

That’s when the experts were called in to lend Claire’s exasperated mom a helping hand.

Firefighters are the jack of all trades when it comes to rescues.

Not only do they fight fires, but as trained paramedics/EMTs they also render life-saving medical aid when they’re not busy saving kitties stuck in high places.

They’re the first people called to the scene when something unusual happens, but even professionals like them aren’t immune from having a good chuckle at absurd situations.

“They were able to get the railing off the wall and get the couch down to the basement and free my mom,” Claire said. “Mom’s OK, the couch is OK, and the ceilings and the wall are definitely not OK.”

On the show, Ross ended up sawing the sofa in half, which defeated the whole purpose of not having to hire movers to do the job.
