Whatever good deed made deserves to be appreciated and shared, no matter how great or small the act is.
For Chelsea Farr, a mom from Georgia, the cashier at a QuikTrip in Newnan did more than just customer service. It is an act of kindness that may be small, but something that definitely resonated in her. And she wanted the world to know about the simple yet inspiring thing that the man did for her and her child.
She was stopping by at the said store with her daughter Adeley when Adeley fell and got a tiny scrape on her knee. Chelsea did not think much of it and actually thought that her child was going over the top because of her wound. She figured she can ask some help from the cashier but did not really expect him to respond the way he did.
The kind cashier
When she and Adeley approached the cashier named Dedrick and asked for his help, he went above and beyond just helping. He even helped to clean Adeley’s scraped knee and gave her bandages to ease the little girl’s pain and anxiety over her injury.
The beautiful moment was something that the mom certainly appreciated, prompting her to share the remarkable experience on her Facebook account so people will know about the nice man who worked in QuikTrip.
“When we went to the cashier, Dedrick, I asked if he had any bandaids I could just put on her knee,” Chelsea wrote on her post. “This sweet man changed his gloves, got Neosporin, and went and opened a box of bandaids off the shelf.”
The kind man got Adeley’s wounded knee all cleaned up and even gave her a band-aid. He even made her laugh after taking care of her! Dedrick was more than just a cashier at that moment. He became an instant friend to the little girl who needed to be consoled.
“I almost didn’t post this because maybe it seems like something so small but I seriously was just blown away by his care and concern for customers that were just purchasing $1 in ice waters,” Chelsea shared further. “And also this world needs more positivity.”
People were amazed at the positivity he’s bringing
Truly, Dedrick’s act of kindness really sparked a lot of positivity online, after people got to read the simple yet incredible story of the man’s kindness.
“What precious story. We need more positive post like this. Lord please help us as a nation. To be kind and loving to everyone,” Marshia Heath commented.
Another person named Pat Malloy also had great words for the sweet cashier:
“Something posted that was positive for a change. Thank you sir for taking care of that little one.”
The mom from Georgia also hoped that the management of QuikTrip would notice her post so they could be aware that a good person is working for them. Dedrick is an absolutely incredible man with a kind heart who’s not hesitating about helping and showing kindness to everyone.
We may think that being kind needs to be great to be considered remarkable. But, the fact is that kindness doesn’t have to be done in grand ways. The important part is always the intention to do what’s right and what’s good, without looking for something in return.
