Mothers get criticized for everything. And now, with the accessibility of the internet, someone always has something to say.

In an effort to multitask, supportive mother Erin Oprea was attending her son’s soccer game and decided she would squeeze in a quick and efficient workout. Facing away from the field, ensuring that she would not be a distraction to others, Erin began jumping rope.

However, what she didn’t know is that she grabbed the attention of another soccer parent in a very negative way. And what Erin thought was a regular workout, turned into something very unexpected.

Erin was stunned when she saw her photo was posted online by an unknown man. In an attempt to shame Erin for working out during the game, the man posted a photo of Erin on social media and wrote the following:

“Would it be wrong of me to tell her that every dad at the soccer field thinks her standing out front with her jump rope for two hours only screams she wants attention? And I can only imagine what the soccer moms are thinking.”

This man, and father, blatantly bullied the mother for trying to break a sweat during her downtime.

“It was crazy,” Erin explained, stating that, at the moment, she thought “Why not kill two birds with one stone?”

Obviously upset, Erin didn’t allow the man to get under her skin. In fact, she re-posted the man’s photo and added her own caption, writing, “Don’t let others bully you!!”

In addition to standing up for herself, Erin also had the support of another woman, country superstar Carrie Underwood. Interestingly enough, what the distasteful man didn’t know, was that Erin is the Grammy winner’s personal trainer.

It didn’t take long for Carrie to jump to her trainer’s defense, taking to social media and writing,

“Way to go, Erin! Use someone else’s negativity to help others. That man obviously has a big problem… with himself. I only hope he can learn to like himself someday so he can be an adult and stop bullying others for bettering themselves!”

In an effort to stand up against bullying and share her story with others, Erin appeared on the TV show, The Doctors. She stated, “The sad thing about it is, this is what discourages other women from working out is people like this,” adding,

“I’m hoping that this can help other women decide that it doesn’t matter what people say…It’s time to get out and do what we love doing!”

Watch the video below to see how Erin handled herself in the situation, and the message she has to fellow women and parents who hope to stay fit and stay encouraged.
