It’s not just dads who embarass their kids with their dancing.
Moms can also commit the crime of terrible dancing, leaving their kids red-faced and humiliated. But with that being said, we don’t quite think that a mom’s dancing can ever quite stoop to the levels of dad dancing.
In fact, in a video that we came across, titled: “Does your mom get the mail like this?” this mom might be embarrassing, but she’s actually got some moves.
The video was shared by daughter Bubby Louk, and features Bubby’s mom getting the mail in the most extra way possible.
Bubby sits in the car filming, while music blasts from the stereo. Out in the driveway by the mailbox, Bubby’s mom grooves to the music with absolutely no regard for any shame Bubby might be feeling.
The best thing about Bubby’s mom’s dancing is her twerking. She can really move to the beat, and we think this makes her a pretty cool mom!
It’s all going great, until another neighbor catches the dancing mom in the act!
Bubby’s mom quickly retreats back into the car and drives shame-facedly back towards her house while Bubby laughs.
“This is my mother, just getting the mail and trying to embarrass me (a female!) and my sister! In the end, she embarrassed herself!” Bubby wrote in her video’s caption.
But there’s a lot more to this story than you might think.
“My mother continues to be my motivation and inspiration!” Bubby wrote. “She has lost 99 pounds with healthy diet practicing South Beach lifestyle and exercise.”
Not only has she successfully dropped down to a healthy weight, but Bubby’s mom has also recently overcome a serious illness.
“This my mother, just 4 months out from having a spontaneous pneumothorax (she had a 40% collapsed lung on her right side).” Bubby said. “Her new motto is: it could always be worse! She continues to live each day to the fullest and dances as if no one is watching!”
Forget embarrassing, this woman is an inspiration!
If we’d successfully managed to lose weight and overcome a serious illness in a matter of months, we think that we’d be dancing too!
The thing with us humans, is that we’re always striving for the best- and when we believe that we haven’t got it, we’re not happy.
Especially in this world of social media and comparison, many of us feel like we can never truly be happy with what we’ve got.
If you often find yourself feeling unsatisfied with your life, then Bubby’s mom’s motto of ‘it could be worse’ could really help change your mindset!
Instead of thinking about everything that could be better, try thinking about ways that your life could be worse. It’s a great way to remind yourself of all the amazing things you already have in life that you might have forgotten to be grateful for.
Bubby’s mom’s attitude towards life is truly infectious- and people on YouTube seemed to agree.
Since the video was first posted, it has received over 800k likes, as well as thousands of comments from people all over the world.
“Meanwhile, all the neighborhood husbands suddenly decide to go check the mail at the same time!” One person joked.
“She isn’t embarrassed! She is getting it!!” Another added. “Golden Era Hip Hop lives in us 80s babies… we can’t let it go!”
“All the moms in the neighborhood are trying to get on her level….Get it Mama!” A final person wrote.
We bet they are! Who cares if Bubby’s mom got caught in the middle of her dance? We’d love to have the confidence to bust those moves like she’s doing!
