Fair warning — you’re going to need a tissue for this one.
Alizah Rodriguez had just given birth to her baby girl Ezrah. It was the best day of her life — but little did she know, it was about to get even better.
Alizah was sitting in her hospital bed at Albany Medical Center in New York waiting to hold her newborn baby while her boyfriend Devontae Gonzalez is seen in the background. The nurse holds Ezrah as Devontae stares in adoration at his newborn daughter.
The nurse slowly walks Ezrah over to Alizah and hands the baby girl to her mom. Alizah stares adoringly at her precious newborn daughter. You can tell by the look on her face that she is in complete awe of her beautiful creation.
The new mom is completely overwhelmed and distracted by her gorgeous daughter that she doesn’t realize that there’s a card attached to the baby’s blanket.
“When the baby was placed in my hands, I first thought the card was just a formality because it had her footprints on it,”Alizah said. “When they brought it to my attention and I began to read it, my eyes began to squint as if I were about to cry but I guess I was so exhausted that my body just couldn’t come up with the tears.”
As Alizah read the card, she couldn’t believe the words that were written. Her incredible boyfriend had something up his sleeve that she never saw coming.
The card read:
“Hi Mommy! I’m so glad to finally be here!
But first things first, a couple of months ago while you were sleeping, Dad was talking to me through the “intermom” and told me to give you a message…
But I forgot so I’ll let Dad tell you. Congrats Momma.”
After the glowing, new mother read the card, this is when Devontae got down on one knee and presented her with an engagement ring.
“After reading the card, my heart melted at the thought that our daughter helped him propose to me,” said Alizah.
Little Ezrah is crying along with her mother as Devontae looks up at them both with loving and devoted eyes, Alizah could hardly get any words out — but needless to say, her overwhelming emotion is a sure sign that she couldn’t wait to spend her life with her wonderful boyfriend.
It’s obvious that there is a lot of love in this new family of three. The emotional proposal in the video below will melt even the coldest of hearts.
