It’s a really tough time for so many of us.
Even those who haven’t had to directly deal with the coronavirus have still been affected by its terrible spread all over the globe, and a lot of high-risk individuals are forced to stay cooped up indoors, avoiding contact with others at all costs.
Many people think that only older folks are at a major risk from COVID-19, but it can be a serious risk for people of any age, including 8-month-old Lucas Pearson.
Little Lucas suffers from a congenital heart defect, putting him in the high risk group, and his parents, Raquel and Derek, are doing absolutely everything they can to keep their son safe.
Instead of going out to stores to buy supplies and essential items for little Lucas, they’ve been ordering everything online, hoping to minimize their risk of passing the virus onto their infant.
Like a lot of people in recent times, Raquel and Derek have been thankful for the amazing delivery drivers out there who have still been going to work, each and every day, to provide us all with the things we need.
But they were especially surprised when one delivery driver did something extra special, right outside their front door.
In order to thank the delivery drivers, the Pearsons posted a note on their front door.
The note reads:
Thank you for delivering our food and packages to us. We have an infant with medical needs and online deliveries are essential to his health. You are helping keep our son alive and well.
One lovely Amazon delivery driver named Monica Salinas saw the note when dropping off a package at the family’s home and was touched by the kind words.
The home’s front door camera then captured Monica saying a little prayer for the Pearson family, before making the sign of the cross and heading back to her van.
In an interview with Inside Edition, Monica revealed:
That’s the kind of stuff that makes my heart cry and I felt the need to pray… Heavenly father, please protect this family, help them get through another day.
The Pearsons were deeply touched by Monica’s kind gesture
Derek said:
It’s just emotional to see somebody, a stranger that took the time out of their day and send positive energy our way.
But Monica wasn’t done there! The Amazon delivery hero, who is also a musician, also performed a lovely song dedicated to Lucas too.
There have been some really sweet stories emerging in the wake of the current crisis, and this is another inspiring example of how good and kind people can be.
Monica could easily have simply dropped off the package and carried on her day, but her small yet powerful gesture really made a difference to this family.
Enjoy the video below to see it happen for yourself and wait for the end to hear a little bit of Monica’s musical performance too.
