Classic jazz and soul singer, songwriter, and actor Michael Buble is a man of many talents. While he is well known for his hits “Haven’t Met You Yet” and “Hold On, he also made wonderful renditions for classic songs like “Save The Last Dance For Me”, “Come Fly With Me”, and “Fly Me To The Moon”.

So it’s not actually surprising that he knows how to mimic the voices of these famous artists that heavily influenced the genre where his music belongs.

He starts off the segment by impersonating the advice from his friend Tony Bennett:

“Michael, you steal from everyone, it’s research. You steal from one, you’re just a thief.”

He then went on to share how vocal impressions helped contribute to his craft by identifying and taking things that he loved about his favorite artists. What he found out was there were apparent differences that set apart these artists, most especially when it comes to their vocal ability and technique.

According to Buble, the legendary Frank Sinatra, widely known for his songs “My Way” and “Yesterday”, sings his vowels hard and pronounced.

To prove this, he belted out a line from Frank Sinatra’s “You Make Me Feel So Young”, to which, he delivered close to how Sinatra would sound like!

In the case of another one of his favorites — Dean Martin, he said that Martin would drop his epiglottis or the leaf-shaped flap of cartilage behind the tongue, and it would make his voice sound so easy on the ears.

His impression of Martin singing “Memories are Made of This” perfectly blended out in this pleasant slur, reminiscent of another hit “Ain’t That A Kick In The Head”.

Elvis Presley, the King of Rock and Roll, would go deep and used a quick vibrato in order to get his signature sound.

While Presley has a lot of impersonators down at Las Vegas, Michael Buble definitely gave justice to the hit song “Can’t Help Falling In Love”.

Dan Rather, the host of the show, can’t help but compliment Buble’s uncanny talent. He said during the interview:

“I’m in awe of you, man. You can make a living just by doing that.”

They end the interview with a duet, one thing that Buble loves doing as stated by Rather. While the host admitted he “can’t carry a tune in a bucket with a lid on.” Buble was still happy to oblige. They sang together Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire”, where the famous singer manages to capture, once again, caught a fellow artist’s likeness.
