Love has to be one of the most talked-about, yet least understood things in human history, right? Poets, writers, and musicians have all done their best to explain what it is and what it isn’t. Still, after thousands of years, we still have no idea how to explain it. It can only be felt and lived out.
There is something beautiful about a life-long love.
Couples who have been married forever have such beautiful stories and wisdom to give us. Their lives have been that of self-sacrifice and tenderness (with the occasional argument, of course).
For Jo and Kevin Taylor, their relationship was about to get a little “ambush makeover”.
An ambush makeover is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. You surprise two people with a makeover they weren’t expecting! For one year, the results were about as sweet as could be.
Jo and Kevin have been married for 49 years.
Forty-nine years is a long time! Having been married for longer than most people are alive is quite the accomplishment. It takes work to have a marriage as longstanding as that, and these two seem like they are as cute as can be.
Meeting when they were 14 and 16, the duo has been together ever since!
With five kids, fourteen grandkids, and twelve great-grandchildren, the two of them were selected by TODAY for a beautiful makeover by a whole team of designers and artists at the studio! Their 49-year-old love might get a bit spicy when they see each other this year!

Jo and Kevin are, simply enough, the best of friends. Seeing them grow old through the years is enough to pull at anyone’s heart! Whether it’s looking like Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey from Dirty Dancing when they were young, to cruising around the country in a Harley when they are old, their relationship is quite the sight.
One thing that Jo hopes they makeover on Kevin is his beard!
Like many wives, they compete for the top spot of love in their man’s life – with his beard! Jo has wanted Kevin to trim his beard for years, and today might finally be that day!
Jo isn’t sure what she is expecting!
For Jo, she was asked what some of the things that she wanted to have done were. On the top of that list was to have blonde hair! Even though she isn’t sure what they are going to do, she seems like she is down for a change.
For Kevin, he doesn’t seem to care all that much!
In typical guy fashion, Kevin is down for whatever. He seems to have a loving relationship with his beard, however, so we may see some changes when it comes to “his old friend.”
When the two see each other, it might pull out a tear from you!
After so many years, they still have that same love and passion for each other!
