There are so many different ways to express fond feelings for another peroson.
But it’s when saying “I love you”, or “I’m proud of you” that truly has someone composing beautiful poems, songs, and speeches.
Paying someone a compliment triggers a smile. Complimenting someone for their achievements will have them choking in happy tears.
It’s rare to see a father publicly honor his son with words and a gesture that everyone, regardless of barriers, will understand.
This father did just that.
It’s a moment that had even him crying.

Dad is Michael Fisher. He is a Marine Master Sergeant bubbling with pride at the man standing in front of him. In a now viral TikTok video, he says,
“I’ve watched you grow and mature and become the man that you are today.”
Fisher, in his dress blues, continued,
“You have always been respectful by saying, ‘Yes, sir, no sir; yes ma’am, no ma’am.’ A salute is a sign of respect. It is a privilege to render you your first salute.”
Fisher is standing about a foot away from another soldier.
As he raises his right hand to salute the young man, he chokes up a bit while saying,
“It’s even a greater honor to say congratulations, sir, for your commission.”
The salute is made more special by the fact that he is saluting his son.
That TikTok video has garnered 1.6 million hearts and 7.3 million views.
A son who grows up to be a good man is every father’s crowning glory.
Fisher’s son, dressed in his utility uniform, salutes back.
You can’t really see it on video but it’s a safe bet that both father and son had tears in their eyes. What a moment.
