75-yr-old woman with no A/C suffers months in heat when she gets an unexpected knock on her door
Peggy had spent $5K on a new A/C unit but the new unit only made her home hotter and the company she used refuse to come back out to help. Not knowing what to do Peggy was desperate since the heat was beginning to affect her and that's when she got a knock on her door.

Think about enduring a blistering summer with no respite from the heat, even within the walls of your own home.

That’s exactly what Peggy Moore, a 75-year-old Kansas City resident, was going through.

The temperature inside her home was regularly hitting the 90-degree mark, giving her debilitating headaches and draining her energy.

To add insult to injury, Peggy had already paid a whopping $5,000 back in February to get her A/C unit in tip-top shape.

Despite her investment, her situation didn’t improve; it actually worsened as summer arrived.

“I’m so hot, I can’t do anything, I can’t clean my house, I can’t do anything,” Peggy lamented to Fox 4 Problem Solvers in July.

She was clearly frustrated and embarrassed.

“I feel bad about it because this is not the way I live. This is not the way I keep my house.”

Her words captured the helplessness that so many feel when life gets unbearably uncomfortable and there seems to be no solution in sight.

And what about Gregg Fowler, the elusive repairman Peggy had paid a small fortune to?

He finally reappeared, but not with the news you’d hope for.

When questioned, Gregg acted as if he’d been living under a rock, claiming he hadn’t even heard from Peggy since their initial agreement.

He insisted that her A/C unit had been replaced, but a quick temperature check inside her house revealed a different story: it was still a sauna in there.

Just when we thought Peggy would have to wave the white flag and surrender to the sizzling heat, a guardian angel swooped in.

Harry Frame from Service 1st Contractors got wind of her story through Fox 4 Problem Solvers and couldn’t let it stand.

Harry was more than willing to offer his expertise and get her A/C running.

And here’s the clincher: he didn’t charge her a dime for it!

This wasn’t just a mechanical fix; it was an emotional one.

Harry’s act of kindness transformed Peggy’s faith in the goodness of people.

“I did a program last Saturday for senior citizens called ‘somebody loves you,’ and now I really believe in those words,” Peggy said, reflecting on her newfound optimism during a follow-up with Fox 4.

Harry, the humble hero of this story, believed it was all in a day’s work.

He’s a man on a mission to make the world a better place, one repaired A/C unit at a time.

“There are a lot of problems in the world these days, so anybody that can reach out and just do a little good for somebody—it needs to happen more often,” Harry urged.

This sentiment was met with wholehearted agreement from Peggy.

She’s now relishing the comfort of her newly-cooled home, but the warmth she feels isn’t just from the repaired air conditioning—it’s from the realization that kindness still exists in the world.

Peggy’s story unfortunately shines light on unreliable repairmen or the perils of living without a functioning A/C in the summer.

It’s proof of human compassion, reminding us that even in the harshest conditions, literal or metaphorical, we can find solace and kindness in one another.

So, if you take anything away from this story, let it be this: it’s more than just a narrative about an unbearable summer and a broken air conditioner.

It’s a heartwarming saga that proves, even when the world seems to be simmering in problems, the cooling balm of human kindness is ever-present, just waiting for a chance to change our lives for the better.
