You ever sit and think about how different you look now? We might not give it a second thought, but we’ve all looked at pictures of ourselves years ago and felt a bit of surprise at how different we looked.
Growing older is something everyone deals with, and the best way to deal with it is to just embrace it.
Life is a one-way ride, so cherish all the memories and future memories while you can.
A great way to visualize how much we change through our years is this video by Hugo Cornellier. Hugo took a photo of himself everyday since the age of 12 until he got married.

Just like everyone else, Hugo went through his awkward years of puberty. That old baby-faced look we all have starts to fade away as our bone structure comes out more.
We don’t quite grow into our features yet, and it makes for a lot of insecurity. Did I mention Acne?

Hugo also changes his hairstyle numerous times throughout his youth. Life’s long enough to try more than one hairstyle, so why not?
Some of us might experiment with bangs, pixie cuts, ponytails, buzz cuts, and so on. Hugo here sports some trimmed bangs a couple years after the first picture.

And of course, for the guys, we all know what it’s like when the stubble starts growing.
Some of us appreciate it, others don’t. Regular shaving becomes part of the daily routine.

A few years later, Hugo’s got clearly thicker eyebrows and way more stubble on his face now.
He’s no young teen anymore, and this is when one starts to think about how their adult life will play out.

Looks like Hugo made some major changes to his look in this photo. He’s gone for a shave to what used to be his thick, semi-curly hair. Perhaps the boldest choice here is the Hawaiian shirt.

Well, looks like Hugo didn’t keep the short hair forever. His stubble is no longer just stubble either.
Growing a beard ain’t easy, and Hugo probably had to commit to this decision from the get-go.

And who’s this behind Hugo? Well, that’d be his girlfriend. Or fiancée depending on when this is.
Take a moment to process that this is the same Hugo who was just a young, pre-teen boy in the first and second photos.
Everyone’s got to grow up and find where they belong, after all. It’s clear to see how easily we just go on with our lives without thinking back on how far we’ve come.

This one is the culmination of all the photos before it. Hugo’s now a fully-fledged adult, with a new life that he’ll soon decide for himself. That daily documenting from him paid off, because the whole sequence was something the whole world needed to see.

In the closing photos, Hugo shows how happy he is on his wedding day. Not everyone knows when that day will come for them, and that’s alright.
If there’s one thing to take away from Hugo’s little montage, it’s that your life is a book whose chapters you haven’t all read yet.
Cherish every day of it, and don’t waste that precious time deciding on a future that’s yet to come.
Hugo’s daily photographing of himself is worth a watch. Play his video below and share this article too!
