Life throws different challenges in our lives. These problems come in different forms and ways.
The only thing that’s the same about them is all of them are difficult to deal with. But that doesn’t mean that it’s impossible to surpass them.
This man – Mark Paarman has been dealing with the biggest challenge in his life.
He was told that he had six months to live due to lung cancer. Nope, he wasn’t living an unhealthy lifestyle, it was hereditary.
Thankfully, he found a medicine from AstraZeneca which made him feel a lot better. When he regained strength and he started surfing again, he told himself that he would never give up.
He also said that he won’t give up his dream – which is truly inspiring.
Mark’s other struggles
His older brother was also diagnosed with lung cancer and passed away within a year. Imagine how painful that was for him while he was just trying to recover.
Despite all of these, Mark chose to move forward and live the life that he wants with his boat.
There was another ordeal that happened when the pandemic started last year.
Mark was away from his wife at that time. He was stuck in Fiji while his wife was in South Africa.
He couldn’t even visit his wife because the borders were closed back then due to the pandemic.
Fortunately, YouTuber couple Jason and Nikki Wynn met him.
They filmed Mark’s life in his boat and got to know him more. Then, they shared his story on their YouTube channel that has now gained over 1.6 million views.
The couple tried to help him by sharing his story and the help that he needed like his medication that is really expensive.
They asked the public to reach out to AstraZeneca for them to sponsor his medications.
Amazingly, many people contacted AstraZeneca and the company personally contacted him. He was asked to consult his doctor which he did.
His friends also contributed money for his medications and of course, AstraZeneca has been helping him, too.

Because of Jason and Nikki, Mark’s story has reached millions of people. Some even left heartwarming messages for him.
“What a beautiful testimony. Will be keeping him in my prayers. God Bless you,” one commenter wrote.
Some commenters even shared their own experiences and the struggles of their loved ones who are also battling cancer.
“I know what Mark is going thru. I have stage 4 colon cancer. And I was told I had 6 months. That was 8 months ago so far so good. I will keep Mark in my prayers. I really enjoy your videos. God bless you and Mark. See you next week.”
Mark is such a strong person. Despite his condition, he still chose to live positively and continued to pursue what he loves to do.
Hopefully, we all be inspired by his strength. No matter what life throws at you, don’t give up and always choose to bounce back with a braver heart.
