“I’m an idiot.” This is how a husband described himself after a “major logistical fiasco.”
As adults, going for grocery runs is something we do all the time.
As such, we should know information and routines regarding the task like the back of our hands.
Easy, right?

Not as much. Because, also for the same reason – a.k.a. being adults, there are lapses in judgment that can lead us to hilarious consequences.
Zach from the TikTok channel ZachAndHailee shared a funny story about their latest grocery run.
In the minute-and-a-half-long video, Zach shared that his wife asked him to go get some supplies.
The list is easy, as he showed since it only has seven items.

While the task seemed easy, Zach was badgering himself for being an idiot and he only realized it when he was checking out.
First, he showed the list.
It says, 1 Velveeta, 2 Chips with “tortilla” in parenthesis, 3 hamburgers, and so on and so forth. Seven items – easy, even for husband standards.

Then, he spread the things he purchased on the table to explain the results of his excursion to the local grocery store.
He showed the audience one block of Velveeta cheese.
Okay, that’s good. The flavor or type can be a bit argumentative, but generally, he got it right.
Then, he showed two bags of chips.
Again, the flavor should’ve been more specific but he got that right too. And two bags? Perfect.

Then he showed three packs of ground beef.
That’s when it starts getting suspicious.
Who needs three packs of meat?
And yes, you’re right – Zach was basing the quantity on the numbers beside the items.

He then showed four packs of water, followed by five bags of sugar, six boxes of pasta, and a whopping seven canisters of salt.
It would’ve been fine if the other items were ones you’d typically buy a lot of.
Because, really, Zach, was your wife running some kind of hidden bakery business?
What kind of spirits are you running away from that you bought salt enough to cover your house, the yard, the driveway, and your neighbor’s shed?

Nonetheless, what’s done is done and lessons that need to be learned are learned – that you can always change the lyrics of the Twelve Days of Christmas to whatever grocery item you can find.
People all over the internet can’t hold back their laughter.
“My husband once ordered online what he thought was 12 cans of green beans ended up being 12 cases of 12 cans of green beans.” One commenter shared.

“Don’t use numbers!” said one. “Use little dashes or do a bullet style. When sending a man shopping be very specific.”
They wrote with the word “very” emphasized in upper case letters.

In Zach’s defense, he shared that maybe next time, when writing a list with numbers, one should return to the basic rules of writing and put a period right beside the digits.
We might not agree on who really fumbled in this chore but we can all agree on one thing – this episode is hilarious!
