The children being born into this world are like none we’ve seen before.
They are smart, intuitive, empathetic, and exceedingly kind-hearted.
They love their neighbor and want to make the world a better place.
Not only that, but they actively work to make the world a better place.
Yes, I am talking about our children.
And one little boy named Jaron Johnson is a perfect example of that.
Not only does the 8-year-old do the things that adults impose upon him, like homework and chores, but he also has an innate sense of morality and desire to help others in need.
“To be eight years old, this boy is so responsible! He continues to amaze me,” his mom Jodie wrote.
Jaron and Jodie were at Walmart when Jaron found quite the treasure just sitting on the floor.
It was a $100 bill.
Now, most people would pocket that money and jump for joy.
But not Jaron. Jaron immediately thought of the person who could have lost the money.
What if they needed it?
And his instincts were correct. That money belonging to 86-year-old James Grice who accidentally dropped it out of his wallet when he was buying his groceries.
As a senior citizen, James lives on a fixed income. So he needs every penny he has.
James didn’t know what he was going to do as he was no unable to buy his groceries.
“When I walked outside of the store I said lord let somebody that really needs that money, find it,” James told KALB.
“When I turn things over to the Lord, I don’t fool with it anymore.”
During this time Jaron was fretting about finding the rightful owner of the $100 bill.
“I gave it to my mom and then the next day when we woke up I reminded her to call Walmart to see if anyone reported it,” Jaron said.
Jodies said she couldn’t have been prouder of her son.
“We talked about it on the way home, you know, people work hard for their money. I was immediately proud of him,” Jodie said.
“He’s a great kid, he has amazing character. He does the right thing even when no one is looking.”
The day after losing his money, James’ decision to give it over to God paid off.
He got a phone call saying that an 8-year-old found his money and wanted to return it to him.
But James didn’t let Jaron go home empty-handed. He gave Jaron a $20 bill and a promise of a bushel of tomatoes when they were ready and ripened from his garden.
And tomatoes just happen to be Jaron’s favorite.
“That child right there, he’s 100 percent to me,” said James.
