Finding a soulmate in this life is what everyone strives for.

Unfortunately, not everyone gets the pleasure of meeting that one particular person.

When you are fortunate enough to experience this, you deeply treasure it.

After this man’s soulmate and wife passed away, he honored her in an exceptional way.

After his wife passed away, he planted 6000 trees in her memory.

Years later, a man in a hot air balloon discovered a hidden secret in the trees that he planted

Winston Howes met his wife Janet in 1962, it was love at first sight, and they spent every moment from there on out together.

The two love birds had the type of relationship everyone dreams about: rarely even bickering and constantly doting on each other.

When Janet suddenly passed away in 1995 after 33 years of marriage, Winston knew he had to do something special to memorialize her.

But what could he do?

He decided to create something using trees that would end up stealing hearts worldwide.

A farmer by trade, Winston got an idea.

On their dream-home property in Wickwar, Gloucestershire, England, Winston began his project by planting oak trees every week until there were 6000 oak trees total.

It wasn’t until 17 years later when a man happened to pass their fields in a hot air balloon, that a secret was discovered within the trees.

A man named Andy Collett just happened to be on a hot air balloon ride when he saw something beautiful buried in the oak trees.

What had been Winston’s secret declaration of love for almost two decades was now on display for the world to see.

What Andy saw from the air was a gigantic heart in the middle of the trees that took his breath away

Andy has his own hot air balloon, but he had never flown over that exact spot and seen the heart before.

“You can just imagine the love story. I have my own balloon and am quite a regular flyer, but this was the most amazing sight I have ever seen from the sky,” Andy told Daily Mail.

The tip of the heart points toward Janet’s childhood home of Wotton Hill.

Winston also planted daffodils that bloom every spring in the center of the heart

Now in his 70s, Winston walks through the oak trees, reminiscing about the woman he lost many years ago.

“I thought it was a great idea, it was a flash of inspiration, and I planted several thousand oak trees. Once it was completed we put a seat in the field, overlooking the hill near where she used to live,” Winston told the Daily Mail.”

This is such a touching story.

The dedication it must have taken to continually plant trees with the precision to form a giant heart is impressive.
