Flying is seldom a relaxing experience. From having to get to the airport to going through security, waiting in line after line just to bored the plane to sit in a cramped space for hours. Plus, being around that many strangers can stress out the most extroverted people.

But every once in a while, people might surprise you and perform an act of kindness that makes flying not so bad.

For this 88-year-old woman named Violet, one plane ride ended up in a dream come true thanks to a young man named Jack.

While waiting in the airport in London, Jack and Violet struck up a conversation and instantly found friendship in one another. We’re unsure what the conversation entailed, but it was enough for Jack to give Violet his first-class ticket to New York for her economy seat.

Violet worked as a nurse in both the United Kingdom and America, often traveling back and forth to New York to visit her daughter. But she hasn’t been able to travel for some time due to a knee replacement.

This flight from London to New York was Violet’s first time flying since her surgery, and of course, she didn’t expect her dream of sitting in the front to come true, but that was before she meant Jack.

Jack wasn’t the only one affected by Violet. According to Leah Amy, a Manchester-based flight attendant that was working when Jack and Violet boarded the plane, she and the rest of the crew found the pair heartwarming.

Leah shared this story on Facebook, where she said, “Of the hundreds of flights I’ve operated, I’ve had the pleasure of looking after footballers, supermodels, and some Hollywood movie stars but let me tell you about my two favourite passengers EVER!”

She continues, “ He [Jack] then sat on the row of seats directly next to the economy toilets and never made a peep or asked for anything the rest of the flight. No-fuss, no attention, literally did it out of the kindness of his own heart, no one asked him to.”

It’s incredible to hear from someone like Leah, who probably flies close to 100 hours a month, how special this moment was.

You don’t often see someone do something for another person just out of kindness and not expecting anything in return.

To share the experience with her daughter, Violet had one of the flight attendants take a photo of her enjoying her first-class meal. She also got a photo of her and Jack together and one with the flight crew, who are sure not to forget the pair anytime soon.

You can see from the photos how excited and grateful Violet was by the experience given to her by Jack, making this eight-hour flight a good one for all those that got to experience her happiness.
