Animals don’t manage well in traffic, that’s a rather well-known fact. Not only they have no regard whatsoever for traffic regulations, but they also have an unfortunate tendency pop out of nowhere and find themselves in the middle of a highway.

Animals on the road are not just mere nuisance, however. They can get hurt or even die if they get hit by a vehicle and they may also pose a danger for humans.

Seconds from Disaster

The video starts in a highly dramatic fashion, as the driver spots a husky running straight towards the train tracks.

“Don’t go on the train tracks, puppers,” he is heard shouting.

The husky likely got scared by the sound of the car but fortunately stopped near the train tracks and looked silently at the driver.

“I’m 100 percent sure this dog is going to run away from me, but I never just leave a dog out,” the driver said.

What happens next is very cute and heartwarming. He got out of the car and walked towards the husky who rushed forward to meet him. The tail-wagging husky rolled over to let the guy from the car cuddle him.

A new home for a lost husky

Our hero carried the husky into his car and discovered that the dog was quite hungry! He decided to take the husky over to the veterinary clinic and get his chip scanned and then find its friends on social media.

Maxx Powell, a vlogger, and firefighter from Washington said that he thought it would be interesting to film the encounter.

I didn’t want her traveling down the train tracks and potentially getting hit by a train or a car,” Maxx said.

He then visited the local veterinary where he found out that the husky had no chip and that it was, in fact, a she! With no other solution on sight, Maxx brought the husky home where he introduced her to his two dogs.

A happy ending

Later that night Maxx received a text from her owner and was visibly disappointed that he had to bid farewell to his new friend.

“I thought I would get to keep her!” Maxx said, smiling. “She belongs to a good home. She kept trying to get in bed with us,” his partner added. “Hey I’m glad we took her off the train and found her home and the owners are coming to get her,” Maxx concluded.

The husky got reunited with her owner thanks to social media and the story ended happily.

Who knows what would’ve happened if Maxx didn’t find himself in the right place at the right time but all is well that ends well.
