Brennon Jones is a man on a mission. His mission is to boost the self-esteem of the homeless by giving them free haircuts.

“Me personally, I think I surpassed a thousand haircuts, so many I stopped counting. So it’s been a good year so far,” Jones told FOX 29.

Like we said, he’s a man on a mission.

However, he thought his mission of kindness would be halted due to the incoming colder winter weather. He didn’t want to have to stop because he knows how powerful his work is.

“My very first haircut, his name is Braden. I cut his hair on 15th & Walnut (Streets). A few days later, I went to check up on him and he wasn’t there. I was hoping nothing bad happened to him. When we did catch up weeks later, he got offered a full-time job,” Jones told CBS Philly. “It’s none of my business how they got in their situation. But I make it my business to help them get out.”

Thankfully, an equally kind soul offered to help him continue his endeavor, which he calls Haircuts 4 Homeless. Sean Johnson heard aboutJones’ mission and wanted to step in and help.

“When I found out well I need to be part of that. I need to see what I can do to help,” Johnson told FOX 29.

Johnson gave Jones a fully-renovated barber shop so he could continue providing services to the homeless… for free.

“He said listen, I’ve got a building I want you to come check out. He said, ‘Do you like this place?’ I said yeah I like it, he tossed me the key and said ‘It’s yours,’”Jones explained.

Johnson, who owns Taper’s Barbershop, was planning on expanding his shop to the one he bought and renovated but changed his mind after hearing about Jones’ work.

“It wasn’t about me giving a barbershop when you look at the homeless and the things that they need, I looked at it as more,” Johnson said. “I built something and I want to see it keep going and I want to see it do a great thing.”

Jones will be opening up his shop in November and it will have days set aside where they only serve homeless clients.

“I just continue to rely on my faith, God brought me this far I know he’s not gonna leave me now,” Brennon said.
