A lot of men get their hair cut on a regular basis – so to them, booking an appointment at a barbershop isn’t a big deal. Yet, it can be more of a life-changing decision if you haven’t had a haircut in 10 years!
One man named Dario had been letting his dreadlocks grow for a decade. They were so long in fact, they actually reached his thighs. So you can only imagine how huge of an event it was when Dario finally sat down to have them chopped off.
It’s an unbelievable transformation captured on film.
The video comes from Tom Chrpa Visuals and it focuses on one heck of a haircut. In the YouTube description, it explains:
“Dario came to a crossroads where he has had to cut off his dreads which he has been growing for 10 years, this is a little short of the process at Chi Ospina & Co Barbershop in North Palm Beach Florida.”
Dario seems a little nervous waiting for his turn in the barber’s chair.
Sure, he knew what he was there to do. But after that many years of growing out his hair, can you really blame the guy? Some people are apprehensive when they’re merely taking off inches!
While the internet is full of gorgeous makeovers, it’s even more gripping when they’re really dramatic. This is one that doesn’t disappoint! It starts with the barber snipping one dreadlock off at the root.
There was no turning back.
Dario is facing the mirror as his long, beautiful locks are cut off and placed onto another chair. On the website How To Get Dreads, the hairstyle is explained as being “matted ropes of hair that can be formed in various ways.”
The final snip was saved for Dario.
After he’s handed a pair of scissors, Dario cuts the last dread himself in a special moment. Understandably, Dario had grown very attached to his hair, so he gives it a kiss goodbye.
There was still a ton of work to do.
It’s probably safe to say that Dario felt like a totally different person at that point (especially without the weight of his lengthy locs). But the talented barber from Chi Ospina & Co had just gotten started. In the video, he pulls out clippers and continues on with the cut.
Not only does Dario look like a brand new man, but some YouTube users think he resembles a handsome Hollywood actor after the cut… Can you see Jake Gyllenhaal?
Even his beard got a nice trim.
For a guy that went 10 years without a haircut, he certainly knows how to pick an amazing Florida barbershop! In the video, you can tell Dario’s in very good hands.

We’re not sure why Dario decided to cut off his dreadlocks, but let’s hope he was happy with the results! Just look at all that hair (10 years’ worth to be exact).
