Lots of famous men sported bears. Movie stars, rock stars, and many others grew beards which gave rise to the trend.
It’s a hit and miss look. Some men can pull it off, some can’t. Some want to but their partners won’t let them. Beards do look good when done tastefully but then, like all things, some men get tired of having one.
Meet Ed Carthy and his one year old beard.
Then you have his hair which he was growing for 18 months. It all started out as a joke with his friends when they wanted to see how long he could grow them out.
The beard itself is a whopping 10cm long. What about that ponytail?
It was all getting a little long in the tooth so Ed headed off to Directors Cut in Aigburth, Liverpool for a shave and a fresh, new look.
Ed even shared a few hilarious stories. Like a kid that asked him if he was Santa. To which Ed replied with,
“No, but Santa’s my dad. Hopefully one day when I grow up, my dad will let me be Santa”.
Then at a baptism wherein he was likened to Jesus. I mean if he turned water in to wine during lunch, no one would have complained. This is Ed’s baptism of sorts. New beard, new life.
All these stories were told while the barber kept on with his work. Shaving here and there, finally bringing out Ed’s young, handsome face. He’s not a bad looking fellow at all. But he looks much younger now!

Certain topics do divide and spark debates. Politics, religion,, engine oil… beards. These are topics most people steer clear from while others enjoy a good discussion. Which usually end up in a conflict. But not Ed’s beard!
He’s got over 3 million views too!
“Yeah, I feel like my face has come back. Its cold. It’s very cold. And that’s a strange sensation cause I’v not rubbed my face for nine, ten months.”
He says while stroking his jaw.
Must have felt really liberating shaving all that hair off. It’s like removing your office clothes after a hard day. Now he gets to save some money on shampoo too. He’ll require less!
We’re not sure if he’s got a girlfriend or a wife but it looks like he won’t be having a tough time finding someone if he wanted to. He’s gone viral, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if people on the streets recognized him and asked for photos. Or a number.
This lad from Liverpool went from Santa and Jesus to Pewdiepie real quick. Now let’s wait and see what he tries to grow next.
